Spiders are no joke. I was bitten by a brown recluse on the back of my arm. In less than 24 hours it raised up a1/2" from my arm and hurt like hell! It broke open the next morning and looked like a gunshot wound. I immediately went to my doctor and was put on meds. I returned to him every day for a week to check progress. Before it was done, there was a 1/2" hole in my arm that necrotized. All is well now. It left a scare but was scary. Be careful out there!

Yep, they prefer outdoor life compared to other spider species… they prefer living underground, in the wild, actually. Especially in the deserts. In cities, like here in San Diego, they live in backyards and come out at night, among potted plants, outdoor furniture, against walls, and also trash cans… have to wear gloves and always keep dumpsters clean here. And everywhere. Lol. The eggs of many spiders can be irritating to the skin, as well. Plus they’re just freaky as hell to see…like these deflated marshmallow things.

I got to the hospital just as my windpipe was swelling shut. They looked at my eyes and seemed to know right away what happened. @@86GT11 Truth! I never touched one but I guess because they are so common (being taken over by brown ones now) we were hyper aware of them, what their chaotic webs looked like, and where they might be. And getting bit normally didn’t result in newsworthy reactions. Plus there aren’t a ton of household spiders in socal, because it’s dry. Being spider aware isnt that hard. You only had to learn about a few.
@erikm8372
@erikm8372 2 месяца назад
It’s not necessarily a lie… you know, many people are into collecting tarantulas, scorpions and other arachnids as exotic pets, even the cute little jumping spiders have a niche pet market. Well, widows are a part of that arachnid pet world, too. There are multiple YT videos on how to care for a pet widow. So I’m sure people here in SoCal catch them and keep them, absolutely. They’re pretty slow for a spider too, and prefer living outside. Easy enough to put a cup over and transfer them to a new spot, or a new enclosure. Lol.

Jumped into my neighbors above ground one time to clean it, soon as I was in the wave splashed the undersides of the aluminum edging, knocking off a dozen or so black widows into the water, the sides were too slick, and they saw me as the only piece of dry ground nearby. All started clambering on top of the water towards me and you know those dreams where you cant run? @gailmuir799

@JoyOfZion9
@JoyOfZion9 2 месяца назад
Antivenin is made by injecting small quantities of venom into an animal. The animal's body reacts to the venom, producing antibodies, cells that attack the venom. We then harvest those antibodies. When someone gets bitten, we inject the antibodies into the person and they attack the venom. The problem is that, from our body's point of view, we've now been bitten twice: once from the spider, and once with these weird antibodies. So our body starts producing its own antibodies to attack the antibodies in the antivenin. Which means if we ever get that antivenin again, our bodies are already prepared to attack it. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that you can't get antivenin twice, but doctors don't like to do it unless your life is in danger, because one of the ways your body attacks invaders is by allergic reaction, which can put your life in danger.

Some people are more allergic to the poison from the spider bite,some people can die as their throat,windpipe swells shut and also get a nasty infection as spiders harbor dangerous bacteria in their mouths ,I was bite by brown recluse spider on my knee ,it got very infected and took 2 months and alot of antibiotics to heal up BE cautious when working outside!

Put on my stepdads army boots he left in the garage when I was 15 to cut the grass without socks. Ran over an ant mound and thought an ant got into boot because felt repeated bites. Ignored pain felt like ant bites so finished the yard. When I took boot off I almost had a heart attack. Mom took me to army ER and they told her nothing they could do sent me home with ibuprofen. It was the one of the worst fevers I ever got because of the nightmares.

I was bitten by a black widow on my lower left leg. It was like being stung by a wasp, but the pain just keeps spreading. I went to the hospital, and they told me if they give me antivenom, it would make me allergic to the venom if I ever get bitten again, and that it costs around $70,000. They gave me morphine. It did little to help. It took 8 hours for the pain to go away. I only spent 1 night at the hospital.

Her abdomen was as large as the first joint of my thumb. Largest spider I have ever seen, in person. He sprayed her till she was white😂😂😂 We bug bombed the whole place because there were little spiders everywhere. I have had nightmares about this event many times.

The reason the pain is so intense and you may have a horrible feeling of impending death because for a small animal it will kill them, but thankfully usually not enough to kill a human! So it stirs up the same anxiety of a dying animal would be feeling. My friend got bit on her thigh and was in the hospital for days and told me this information after her experience.

They *are* native of here California, brown widow and black widow. (Read on for more information from me California native) They have a distinct red hourglass ⌛ *They are found in dark dry abandoned cover* Yesterday I found a brown widow under my bike 🚲 cover when I uncovered my 🚲 bike from it's rain 🌧️ cover to use it after a big while, it's been months and months I haven't used it. Two actually,had to slay them for safety. I found once or more a black widow in a outside fire place thingie we had that had a lid ,made outta kinda like a big pottery thing. *Again, dry dark hidden places* so if anything, always check your covered goods that are in prolonged dry and dark conditions or contain dark dry spaces. To this I add about brown recluse spider 🕷️: it's a stalker and hides in abandoned places like piled firewood....if in California,check for these if a place or elements contain space where creatures can hide if these are in absence of people for prolonged periods of time. Same for criteria of black or brown widow 😳 😬 😱 🕷️ 🕸️ Btw Brown recluse are not web knitters but *black and brown widow are*

Living in California in the valley East of San Francisco, we had tons of Black Widow Spiders everywhere! Most found near outside lights I had that were on at night. They loved these spots because they attracted bugs! Some where huge, the size of a half dollar. They are easy to spot as they are so black! Underside on the abdomen they have a distinct red hourglass. The webs they make are just a mess of silk strings, no pattern at all. I never got bit in the 7 years I lived there. I did however get bit by the Brown Recluse spider! That was no fun! All the tissue on my wrist just turned into a rotting mess! That spider is found in Minnesota and just about everywhere! They like dark damp places. So creepy!
