Oh how I love that beautiful Yellowish Green, sometimes referred to as Pistachio Green, Epidote! The fanned out crystal structure is also extremely appealing. Last year I acquired my stunning Epidote Crystal and I certainly can't wait to add more. Learn about this wonderful (and local to Ontario) Mineral!

I would guess epidote for that big rock but I'd love to get a better look to see the other minerals before I would place a bet. I have unakite I've found. It's on my polishing list for the winter. It was actually the first epidote I found as it was easy for me to know what I was looking at. I can't wait to work on it.

I have been finding this outside my home both as part of my driveway gravel and as stones that come up in my garden. There is also a lot of feldspar and quartz in this area. Most of the epidote is in gritty layers with the feldspar, although I have found two specimens with some crystal formation. Fun stuff to find! I do live in Western N.C., but not near actual unakite sites.

Whever i see green in a felspar or calcite rock i find myself double checking it's not Moss. Or maybe that's just me.. 😊 I need more epidote in my life. Green minerals are my 💚

Yes! Crocidolite is a member of the Asbestos family. :)

Ive never heard unikite pronounced the way you say it. I've always heard it as "you" nikite.

Rock names are tricky. But it’s possible yours is the most common pronunciation. 😊
