You did it, Mike! As we talked, views, procs and even commands are way better for this scenarios. But your video will help people like me who are willing to explore Crystal Reports to the fullest! The tips, tricks and hacks you show on your course are great and i really recommend it. Even being a Consultant, i used to use CR just for arrange fields, layouts and so on, but your course has been great to reveal some CR potentials... Thank you!

Thanks for the compliment and for watching. HANA and SQL are 99% the same. IFNULL vs ISNULL is a fundamental function that is different but the structure and logic is all the same. I might make a video on the few differences but if you really get one then you'll get the other.

Just discovered your channel :) great video! Could you perhaps do a video on how to make a Cover Page and back page in Crystal reports. I'm getting this question more and more for quotation documents but I can never get it fully working. I run into White space problems of the Footer page that is in the way to do a full image back page or front page. If you have any way to get around this I'd love to see that :) would be nice if Boyum could implement a Crystal reports / PDF merge option when previewing a document. 3 separate reports would do the trick.

I would use a SubReport if I really needed to detail the Taxes (example by taxcode). OR just use OINV.VatSum field if I'm only interested in the total and leacåve INV4 out of the SQL

Hey Rasmus, Suprised seeing you here! After just posting my question to Michael, perhaps you could answer it too; I'm always having issues making a front and back page in Crystal reports as I'm running into footer page space reservation issues. Could you perhaps implement a Crystal reports / PDF merge option when previewing a document in B1up? That way 3 separate Crystal reports or 1 report and 2 pdfs would do the trick.

Hello Mike, hope you are fine! I am one of your students and I can say that I have learned crystal with your courses. I faced a problem with one of my reports. In my details in special cases I need to aggregate just one row. Do you have any solution for this? FYI I have already tried conditional grouping :(

Hi Nassim! Thanks for taking my course. From your description I do not know exactly what you mean. You can use a conditional column that is IF {Type} = "Aggregate" THEN {Quantity} ELSE 0 then do a summary on this. Then Crystal will use the quantity for the column if it meets your criteria otherwise it will use zero. Let me know if this works, M

Best to filter the data out entirely before it gets to the Crystal Report. Use an SQL View (HANA View) or StorProc rather than the raw tables. Check out my SQL course, it has a lecture on using Views / StorProcs as the base for Crystal Reports. If you simply exclude the group on the Crystal Report your report will run slower than leaving the data fully out of the CR. Thanks for watching!
