Please put the washers back where they started from . The blades need to be flat on the steel disk. If a blade breaks off it can go through the side and through your helper .
you have to bear in mind for the price of the machine its good value you have to expect not everything gonna be perfect with the welds i was more surprised being a road towable chipper maybe wider wheels will keep it more stable
hi Mack great review 2 questions , do you use normal petrol or aspen for the chipper, and how does it cope chipping old branches, that have been left on the ground for a few seasons , are chippers meant for newly fresh cut branches only, take care matey
Thanks I use normal petrol in my wood chipper as sometimes it can be running all day and as long as I used super unleaded it's ok it's just in the smaller engines like hedge cutters where I prefer to use a higher end fuel as it doesn't clog up You can put old branches through it and it'll handle them alright as long as they're clean
Mine starts first pull I've used my wood chipper on some good size jobs first class you can get it in very small gates I've got nothing too say bad about my crytec
Does it clog very often and have you tried this chipper on hardwood fruit tree prunings (e.g. apple)? I have a Forest Master 6DD and it's struggling with apple tree prunings. It turns them into saw dust which then clogs the chute and I end up spending more time clearing the debris than feeding through the machine.
I put quite a bit of hardwood through it and it's done a really good job however it would struggle with twisted and bended wood that's all tangled however if it's straight it goes through really well
Hi Mack great review i have one that i bought second hand and am really pleased with it, do you sharpen your own blades and are they easy to do, i have been told they have to be sent away
Thanks for making this, really helpful. Just a quick question, what sort of size chip does it produce? Would it make useful woodchip for paths etc? Thanks
Hi have also purchased one of these chippers and first off infind the leaves don't chip down just go straight thru Second issue is the towing it bounces around a lot on the road almost feel it's going to tip over wish it had some suspension
Mack hi, a quandary for me. I'm just a suburban house with some bushes and thorny trees and a wife who creates a lot of garden rubbish I'd like to put through a mulcher. I'm looking at machines and as far as I can tell the 6hp machines won't process much more than twigs, so at £600 they are just bad spending, which is why a more commercial machine may be a better investment. If I were to try putting plant based material through this machine, am I likely to end up with a clogged machine - I want to be able to handle a range of stuff from 2 or 3 inch branches to rose cuttings, wisteria etc... ?? Like the vids ..
Probably worth looking at a petrol garden. Shredder rather than a chipper Most of the bigger chippers will handle green waste but they're mainly made for wood like tree branches
@@mackthomas8750 Too late.... I've gone for a Crytec GS650 Jet 7hp 100mm, Petrol Wood Chipper. 'Seems' to have enough chipping capability and can probably (I hope) shove minor twigs easily through the large funnel. As for green garden waste, well, if it's that small it can go on the mulch heap. I looked at bigger machines like the 15HP Titan but although good revues, it looked cumbersome and nobody seems to have a vid of using the top loader with the flaying blades. Plus I don't like these small horn feed openings. Only downside is blades are £25 each for the Jet. Oh well, I'll just have to train the wife up - wish me luck.
The only down side I think is that fan chipper assembly does not seem to have the weight to give the best kinetic energy transfer, where the drums do. NB: Crytec seem to have a problem with their comms which makes life a bit of a pain - see that people were reporting this a year ago.
I saw that when I was looking for mine and I did think about getting it but I couldn't be bothered with all the postage and the hassle of organising it How easy was it to buy one from China and get it shipped over
Thanks I am not sure what the size is however it won't fit for a standard garden gate however it is light enough to pull it around someone garden if they have a big gate I used to use a cobra wood chipper which I could fit into people's back gardens it was great because I didn't need to bring all the brash down the side passage however it's much faster to drag it out onto the road and put it through a bigger machine like this Thanks for watching have a nice evening
Hi there Mack I have recently purchased one of these chippers and done the modification on the blades and it has totally changed the machine very happy with my purchase and thanks for the discount code. 👍🏻
I've tow it in the Rain loads of times and it's fine it's been outside in a whole day of torrential rain started it up and water was gushing out the shoot but it was still fine
Hi @mackthomas8750 Just found your channel - well impressed with your content and garden landscaping work. Keep it up fella. Wee question re: the crytec wood chipper. Does it come road legal or did you have to upgrade it to make it legal for road towing. I'm looking for something beefier than the smaller 6HP machines and this looks ideal for my budget. Thanks.
Hi I have the same chipper was just wondering when you took of your blades did it have a metal spacer behind them and did u have to adjust they anvil after putting Washers on blade side thanks phil.
07:45 ...and once again...the 10mm makes an unscheduled appearance!! Nice video...I think I'm taking the plunge today...I'm just a homeowner with a 12 foot high pile of brush that needs to be "reduced"...
I've been using it once every two weeks for about a day and I'm currently just sharpening the blades with a knife sharpener not changed them yet and have it for 1 year
the last thirty seconds of your video is exactly the reason i found your video. looks like ive found my new toy. do you know how it compares to the hyundai 420cc?
