This song is genuinely such a masterpiece, some of your best work yet. This song, more than any other, strikes me as the story of YOU and all you went through-exuvium, as the title of the new album, proves this, since (if I got the correct definition) it is a skin you shed. You can feel the mania of the first movement, heaviness of the second, and the thrill of inspiration in the third and fourth, yet impending doom is clearly implied through the lyrics, especially in the section of the second choir. Notably, the burial motif from Cataclysm is back. I wonder what this mysterious recurring lady in your music-The Queen of Fiji, Deluvium Ruina; I believe them to be one and the same, just in different forms-is to you. What does she symbolize? My best guess is that she is art itself, at least in this context. I’ve been pondering this for a while, and I have a lot of ideas. Also, Deluvium Ruina-could that phrase (or name!) be a callback to Swimming in The Flood and Akureyri? “Destruction by a flood” certainly fits that theme, but the other songs which reference it seem to have contrasting ideas. Either way, it’s intriguing. This is definitely a very exciting new development in Crywolf lore and in music and general-I can’t wait to create my own story to this song, to watch it unfold, and to feel everything in it. Fantastic work, and I can’t wait for the album.

I love, how deeper into the song the pacing stumbles, introducing distortion, corruption, alonside with the clean notes. Such beautiful detail. I adore your music with all my heart, especially these pieces, when you throw all of yourself onto the canvas, combining beauty with darkness, light with shadows, art with pain. Years ago that changed my perception of being an artist, of being a human being, honestly. And I am forever grateful to you for that! All of this mean a lot, your art means a lot, YOU mean a lot. I'm a desert rat. Always have been, but I have ventured through the woodland a few times and whenever I do, I can't help but think of a crywolf song playing in my head. Been that way since 2015 when I heard "stomach it." That's when I delved into this rabbit hole and haven't come back out of. That is what your music is to me. A journey into places I haven't been in. Or places that are new or unsettling. It's kind of weird to describe really. Mayhaps like being in a weird country of planet?

It felt like a chaotic journey with no rules. I love it.

WAIT the way the colors invert at the end of the song-fuck I may be reading too much into this but i think it references how the speaker is wrestling with the dark "underside" of his psyche, and then when he chooses to embrace it, the "sides" have changed places...

Oh this is harrowingly, hauntingly beautiful and I am beyond thrilled to hear this Justin. So thank you, thank you for finding your way back to share this with us. This song is beautiful, I fell in love with it the moment I heard it in your oblivion part 2 trailer. Thanks for the work you've put into it all despite what you went through.

I am genuinely at a loss for words as for how explain how this made me feel. This song feels like an album, and by that I mean there is so much impactful narrative within this piece that it just encapsulates an entire experience incredibly and with a poignant rawness. I waited to listen to DNA because I knew I needed time to emotionally process the things it would make me feel, and I feel that way with all of Justin's music. He has an ability to draw out things in you to a degree that is almost painful, yet somehow beautiful in its viciousness. I am halted every time I listen to new music from him. It's an incredible gift built from strife and suffering, and I revere his ability to harness it.

This is a complete musical experience, my my i can't believe i'm alive at the right time to bless my ears with your music. Justin you're amazing

If I'm honest, your darker stuff tends to be your better-sounding stuff for me, although it's hard to deny the beauty of the lighter tones present in Angels and Ghosts. Honestly, I've yet to find something of yours I DISLIKE, so please, darken the atmosphere as much as you like. We'll still be here.

I fully respect you as an artist and lyricist. I understand that this two part widow works is truly a dive into madness and dark places. It's just not for me, I love your earlier works to no end and they helped me through some tough times. They had an odd sad but uplifting mix as it showed a similar journey to what I went through. I will continue to support your music and hope more uplifting music is in the works.

Listening to this song is like hearing a revelation. It is hauntingly exquisite and yet it is so soothing to listen.

Music has always been my safe place, it is a journey of peace towards what you imagine when you listen to its rhythm. Crywolf's music has been for me the work of art that I love the most, I dare to say that many of its songs, lyrics and rhythms manage to express what my soul and heart do not easily do through words. His music has been my means of communication with many people and I never get tired of saying that I LOVE THE MUSIC OF CRYWOLF THANKS FOR SO MUCH JUSTIN you really make amazing music🎀

God the viscerality of your work resonates with me in a way nothing else ever has. Trying to understand the dread clawing in your subconscious, gnawing yourself to the bone to render the abyss into something understandable, feeling like you're carrying this monolithic sense of doom inside you that defines so much of who you are as a person but you haven't really even explored it. Realizing the monster behind the corroded door in the back of your head is you. 2020-2021 was one of the worst periods in my life and Oblivion pt. 1 helped me survive it. I had lived with severe anxiety my entire life, like this abyss in my head, and I was suddenly being dragged down to the bottom of it. It felt like if the truth down there was fully confronted, I would be annihilated. I listened to Ultraviolent pt.2 over and over and over again like I needed it to live, because it told me that I was going to survive that annihilation. I can't even describe how much these themes and ideas resonate on a level I can't really put into words. This song is part of the same journey, it's dark but it's different. There's clarity. I read it as being "about" mental illness, not in a narrow sense, but in the sense that I can relate to it. You've wrestled with this entity that feels like it's devouring you, conceptualizing it as something monstrous, and your relationship with it as poisonous and almost codependent. But you have to descend into the abyss, you have to embrace the dark side because it is your truth. This song...this just hits so hard. I think we all learn these ways of making our pain palatable and socially acceptable, fitting it into categories that already exist and can be treated or dismissed. These neat categories and explanations validate pain and give it a right to be seen as real. But at the bottom of the abyss it's a different kind of "real," a "real" that doesn't care if a name exists for the agony, and it's not a pathogen and it's not an outside entity, it's the submerged portion of your psyche and you have to reckon with that. I see this song as being about embracing that-that a complete understanding of why and in what ways you're fucked up is never going to exist, but there is something real inside you and it is real because it hurts. Thank you for this masterpiece.
