What a flow of words, reflecting his thoughts!!! Absolutely amazing. The reason why BJP and some regional parties is that once Congress wins, Rahul Gandhi takes over as PM, they can no longer compete him in politics. Rahul Gandhi is with people- people who suffer most, regardless color, creed, caste. He loves every Indians, and Indians will return the love back to him, and that will be the end of BJP and those regional parties disliking him

Bharat Jodo Y/Jatra has been key to Rahul ji's emergence as a personally and emotionally extremely secured individual to lead people. Karnataka success is one of the by-products of BJY/J and whatever to follow from here.

I also like how he is optimistic about the future of the country and believes the storm of hate would pass. I was cynical till the start of BJY and couldn't really see much hope. But over the past few months, there is a small hope rising in my heart that perhaps the future is not as bleak as I think it will be. I like his optimism and faith in the basic nature of India though he has seen so much violence and been at the receiving end of a targeted politics of hate. I will try to practise some of what he preaches and practises - stop carrying anger in my heart at the state of things and believe they will change though they might take their time. But I agree a lot of the good will towards INC and RG in particular is because BJY went above electoral politics. It made me feel that Congress and RG did care about the idea of India which was worth fighting for. That was what was needed at that time - for people to feel again that they had stakes in this country of their birth.

Great discussion. See the possibility of an alternative to the current government. I have noticed that many people, including Mr. Rahul Gandhi in some occasions, uses the word called "Lower Caste people" which I think is wrong word of choice to use. There is no caste is lower caste and of course the word caste itself should be uprooted from the modern Indian society. People in south India mostly don't use this word since it is a discriminatory word; but instead people use the word called "oppressed or downtrodden " community. The word choice "oppressed or downtrodden " gives the idea for the people that casteism should be eradicated and the bring the justice and equality for everyone as Dr. Ambedkar dreamed of.

Another brilliant conversation between RG(whom we never get tired of hearing) and the surprisingly intelligent diaspora in US.Surprising becoz lately we have been hearing very crude and disturbing voices coming out from that corner.It’s heartening to hear different voices.👍

Like he said, just uniting the opposition for election is not really the only thing. They should thoroughly expose the misrule of the present government to the voting public to create an anti-bjp wave. If they can make people cast negative vote against BJP no matter who the other candidate is, opposition unity will automatically happen post elections.

I am a very emotional person. My emotions were on display yesterday when I saw Narendra Modi’s speech & other proceedings. I literally had tears in my eyes. Those were the tears of happiness, joy & pride. It is not that Modi is the first PM who has visited US or has addressed their parliament for the first time. But the following activities were beyond my expectations: The super power making serious attempts to please India. They did not have to fly a large poster of Narendra Modi & Joy Biden over new York using a plane. They did it. They did not have to display our national flag on their monuments or attractions such as waterfalls however they chose to do it. There was a protocol that MPs shouldn’t be shaking hands with PM untill he himself comes forward however MPs did not care about protocol. They looked extremely thrilled meeting Modi Ji. Some of them literally stretched their bodies to reach the hands of Modi Ji. Some of their MPs stood in queue to take the autographs of our PM. They literally stood in queue & came one after other. Inspite of so many cameras being around, some of their politicians asked Narendra Modi for a selfie on their phones, this was again a breach of protocol but they did not care. They literally held Narendra Modi as if he was Sachin Tendulkar & they were his cricket fans. The American lady who sang the national anthem on stage, touched the feet of Narendra Modi. It was such an amazing gesture for her to give respect to Narendra Modi as per Indian traditions. There were Modi Modi chants in parliament, some of which were from Americans. There was so much of laughter. Narendra Modi cracked jokes, staying in full control of what he was supposed to say. Exchange of gifts from Modi to Biden & his wife & vice versa had so much of warmth in it. It was unprecedented. Unlike all previous occasions, this time US itself said that they aren’t going to lecture India on human rights. They knew that India can respond without mincing words. I feel extremely proud to be the citizen of the country which is today the focus of the world. From US parliament, Modi told the world that Indian has moved from 10th spot in GDP to 5th spot between Modi’s two visits to US & will soon be the third largest economy. This is the pace at which India is growing. World listens when India speaks : We are sort of financing Russia (by challenging US sanctions & buying Oil & Gas) as it fights America & its allies but US is Pleasing our Prime Minister. When sanghis used to call him pappu, I was confident that he is a man of truth, justice and down to earth person. Some small flaws would have happened but BJP was highlighting that small mistakes and started calling him pappu. But now I am happy that people started realising that he is a true educated gentleman with a good family background of what he is doing now. The amount of pain he has gone through in his personal life by losing his grandma, father etc.and later the way BJP was harassing him was insane. But it's time for people to realise and most of them are understanding.

Not only India, but humanity of the world, is going to have a leader who is spiritually evolved. Transition of the world,from materialistic to spiritually evolved society, under his leadership,is a matter of time only.

This was a wonderful interview. Though he was jetlagged, once he got into form, he had a lot of interesting things to say. The answer about the economy was quite good, insightful and to the point - of linking capital to skill pockets in the country and changing the education system. Rahul Gandhi has an open mind and doesn't mind getting corrected or criticized. When he was told even previous Congress govts had not done enough for education and healthcare, he did not blindly defend instead talking about what could be done. If it was a BJP minister, there would have been a hundred excuses. The same with his use of the word 'problem' with respect to the issue of queer equity to which Anjali rightly responded as "privilege". It was nice to see him take that in and bring it up later when talking about minorities saying it is their privilege. Little things like that tell you this is a man ready to listen and consider other view points and willing to course correct if necessary. That is a rare quality to see in people, much less in politicians.

I have noted with much regret that Rahul, otherwise seen as progressive, didn't have the courage to uphold India's Constitutional position of state-religion seperation to Anjali's specific question. Our Supreme Court has in many judgments, clarified that while everyone is free and empowered to follow any religion of their choice, the state has no religion. Not just that: The SC has pointedly ruled that religion cannot enter even in our political parties. It is shocking that Rahul should declare religion inseparable from politics in India and remain mum on state-religion separation. If this message could reach Rahul I urge him to update himself and uphold our Constitutional law on this subject at every future forum. There is nothing to fear because only a non-religious state can ensure freedom for citizens to follow (if they choose to be religious) any religion of their choice.

A politician who matured the most in the last decade....hope he delivers when time comes and not be a big failure and disappointment like the one we currently have who changes attire a couple times in a day and delivers nothing but false promises and broken dreams and of late even death as in Odisha as we Indians have over the years voted non performing govts out of power and ushered the ones who sold us dreams and never fulfilled them. Sorry state of affairs.

What Mr Gandhi is giving the idea of aim of life of the youngsters and employment in specific, it is already started by one AAP govt in the state of Delhi where Mr Gandhi is staying that vast scopes are being provided by the govt in a planned way with developing infrastructure and other facilities resulting the youngsters are highly impressed not only in academic proficiency but also in some other vocational expertises of their choices where they may not run after as job seekers rather job providers doing some own buisness or other, for this Delhi govt is providing Buisness Blaster programme in govt schools for class 9 ,10, 11 and 12 students !!! He must introspect and let apply in congress ruled states !!!
