Sir why it will go in E2 mechanism which slow rather it can go in E1CB as phenyl can stabilize the carbanion. If phenyl was not there then it can go in E2 mechanism

Q 12 in reference book + charge was mentioned in bridge head position but in csir question it was not there will it make any difference in the answer???
