Yes. I've been stuck in connecting css to html. Works fine until the next day, can't make changes, start new css file & connect again. A.css, B.css, C.css
I understood a lot even though I know nothing about css, just by deduction. I wish I understood all the terms you mentioned so I could understand the placement and operation of the each specific css style. I would recommend that you also use your mouse pointer to circle or point to the area or part of the document that would be changed, before actually changing them. I had to rewind quite a few times to see what had just been changed as some changes were incremental and not very noticeable at first. Great content for a crash course though.
