CSX Heritage: Locomotive 1976 Honoring Conrail 

My dad worked for Conrail before the merger, finished his 36 year career with CSX. If he was alive today, I think he'd love this engine.

We need this and NS 8098 in a lashup IMMEDIATELY!!!

CSX's heritage paint schemes are very good to see. So glad they are out on the road to be seen.

My late grandpa and my dad lived through the Conrail times and I'm glad csx made it,my late grandpa would've loved to see this heritage unit. Me and my father like this! Nice job csx and thanks for bringing what my late grandpa and my father used to see back to life on csx.

As a kid living in Cleveland, Ohio during the early 1980s, that big blue Conrail engine is my first memory of trains. I'd frequently see Conrail engines moving through my grandmother's neighborhood. I love that CSX is honoring this company. What a paint scheme!!!

Imagine seeing NS 8098 and this hauling a train, that would be cool. Loving these new CSX Heritage units, but this will probably be the only time this will be shiny and clean.

Absolutely Beautiful Gentlemen. I Remember growing up in Worcester, Mass and watching all the Penn Central locomotives at the end of my street slowly Turning Conrail Blue.

My dad started out with Conrail in 1972. Worked 43 years there. I remember the company picnics they used to have

I never lived in New England, but instead grew up in Colorado. As much as I miss the BN Forest Greens, the D&RGW Coal Blacks, and the ATSF Warbonnets (and the Bluebonnets & Yellow Bonnets), I miss Conrail Blue. Conrail took the best of the failing railroads in New England and the Ohio Valley and put them together into one massive Class 1 railroad. Conrail Blue meant "power and might" to me. Although my particular interest now is in Class II and Class III railroads, a part of my Railfan heart will always be with those fallen Class I majors.

You guys done an amazing job on all the H units so far. This one is the best. Well done CSX, well done

CSX #1976 is here. It's the Conrail Heritage Unit. It's looking mighty shiny as of July 22nd 2023. CSX is doing great with their heritage units and more are coming.

CSX is the best Railroad....I remember Conrail going to Va in 1998 in NJ next to the Turnpike....Keep it up....Can't wait for the L&N unit!

the first heritage unit of conrail was produced by NS in 2012, which was 11 years ago.

So if the NS and CSX Conrail heritage units were to run together, the only way it would look good is if 8089 was leading and 1976 was trailing with its nose in a tunnel! It's like I ask for a full paintjob if a red Chevy and they paint all but the front bumper and hood in red then the other pieces in Ford Blue with a Ford logo on the grill!

Interesting concept on the paint scheme. The half fade. Quite original.

I'm a Train enthusiast and know all about trains! The last Conrail Message was very sad. My Great Grandfather worked at Conrail in 1985. He died 8 years ago (when I first started my channel) I'm now 14 and To this day, Conrail Blue is my favorite color. CSX and Norfolk Southern replaced Conrail. Still to this day, Conrail will no longer be on the rails. (except like 5 other last Conrail AC4400W's and EC44AH's. Including this heritage) Please make a new heritage unit with my great grandfather's name (His name is Eugene)

All these units have been so. Beautiful and I can't to see them running and I wonder if they'll do one for each railroad that eventually became csx or only the last big four railroads that made them? BTW I thought northfork southern bought out conrail. The more you know, I suppose, lol

My favorite railroad growing up. Detroit Metro to Elkhart. My childhood was filled with Conrail Blue. Pere Marquette heritage Loco please please pretty please!!!!

Please please give them a full Conrail livery it would make 1976 look 100% better

At last, the other half of ConRail has been unveiled. The first half is already brought out by Norfolk Southern at last the second half to the split of this Railroad has been unveiled as a tribute.

Better than the Chessie System one. The Seaboard System and Conrail units are the best in my oppinion.

I kind of like the way CSX is doing their heritage paint schemes, although with the Chessie System one I feel like either the colors are a bit "off" or the size of the orange stripe is too wide. Something doesn't feel right about that one. The Contrail blue looks very nice, though!

Perfect Paint Scheme ,Just be sure to finish the Job and get that unsightly CSX Color off that cab and nose.

Wish they would have just painted the whole unit in the correct period. Or paint the front of the unit in the heritage paint. I just don't care for seeing CSX on the front. I know a lot of you csx lovers are going to snarl but, that conrail blue is beautiful, csx against it looks like crap.
