CSX Railroad Diamonds In Deshler, Ohio & Abandoned Train Station Sees Last Days! 

4 Trains Pound The Railroad Diamonds In Deshler, Ohio! Abandoned Train Station On Borrowed Time! CSX trains, abandoned railroad station, railway diamonds and Baltimore And Ohio Railroad signals and buildings. First we see an auto racks train booking across a railroad crossing and then hit the diamonds between the old B&O buildings. Then we see a local switching freight train running long hood forward over the diamonds. The trains pass the old B&O color position lights that are still in use. Then we take a look at the old train station that CSX is going to tear down any day now. They want it removed but it contains all kinds of history including being hit by a coal train about 20 years ago. Next we see a fast intermodal train led by two Union Pacific Railroad locomotives. But if you think that was cool, you need to see the last train which is a tank train booking across the diamonds being led by a BNSF locomotive with a CSX unit trailing! That was probably the coolest train of the day. The area across the tracks from the old dilapidated train station is a Railfan park with picnic tables, a shelter and a scanner feed. This is an excellent little park but its a shame that the old train station is going to be torn down. It is in terrible shape. The two story B&O structure across the tracks from the depot is used as the CSX signal maintainers office. I came to Deshler with my friend Scott and his channel is 1960gambit. We were here last year with Millenniumforce. This place looks like a railroad museum or a full size model train layout. There is also a huge, ancient water tower just south of the diamonds.
