This shows how powerful Yukari is. The very universe she belongs to - a dream - is going down, but she doesn't care as she has enough power to cross the gap between the dream and reality. She wasn't an actual demon at the start, but became powerful enough to actually exist... That's really badass in my opinion.
Basically, the AoCF version 10 years before AoCF. *Edit:* Oh my God, people, what you've done under this comment... Ok, it looks like I need to explain what I've meant: "This arrange of Night Falls sounds very similar to the AoCF's arrange of Night Falls, despite CtC coming out 10 _(actually 11 though)_ years before AoCF." Yes, I know, this is NOT actually the AoCF version - they just sound similar. And, yes, I know that they are both arranges of the same song, but the original Night Falls has a pretty different pace and feel, compared to this 2 versions. I hope, this would stop the confusion

If you look at the first version of Evening Star - Night Falls you will see that it is quite different from this and AoCF's. tankOdrum2 This comment alone makes Marisa about a hundred times more badass than she is in canon. Y'know, to this day, I want to see a Yukari battle where she actually utilizes her gaps. Perhaps she fires lasers that travel through gaps around the field, causing lasers to be everywhere. I've noticed ZUN is becoming a lot better at using character's abilities in the battles nowadays (Seija Kijin, Shinyoumaru Sakuna, Satori Komeiji, Ichirin Kumoi, etc.), so we should just have a sort of compilation by ZUN of just new and improved battles with various previous characters. There are some awesome Touhou characters that honestly need more attention.
The part that starts at 1:40 has to be one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard. It sounds so melancholic, but still powerful and elegant. Yukari knows whats about to happen much better than you, better than anyone else probably. She is aware that time is running out, and that everyone is going to die, that part of the song reflects the internal sadness she feels, but of course won't reflect because it's not her role. She is the not the one supposed to be desperate and collapse under the pressure, you are, and she will kick your ass because she's the fucking strongest creature in existence.
And even then, she has barely any reason to show sadness, cuz she can just yeet herself onto the border of dream and reality and she'd live to tell the tale.
i mean being able to go to the reality of actual reimu(who was dreaming the gensokyo) makes her infinite layers into boundless💀💀i don't even know how strong that makes the actual reimu
Anyone else imagine a chase scene here, with Yukari flying away from Marisa and dodging her questions (and Master Sparks), and Marisa getting frustrated more and more with the gap hag as the chase continues, until Yukari finally snaps and explains what's happening?
Personally, I just really wanted Yukari to have Necrofantasia as her theme in this game and was a bit disapointed at first that she didn't get that theme. But this theme grew on me so much over time and now I can't help but love it. It suits Yukari so well as a trickster-mastermind that's not ready to let go of her secrets just yet.
Necrofantasia's good, but I prefer to think of that theme as a remix of Ran's theme (side note: I like necrofantasy more than the original oops) so when I think of Yukari's theme for me that's always Night Falls ~ Evening Star
I love this rendition of Evening Star the best. It represents Yukari's personality of the odd mixture of regal and prankster, while also showing Yukari's power completely. ...You can tell Yukari is one of my favorite characters, right? xD
This seriously sounds like something that came out of Pokemon, like a boss battle at the Battle Frontier. 0:00 from 0:11 feels like you've just encountered Yukari. 0:11 and on is where you send out your Pokemon (or shrine maiden, in this case) and fight Yukari. In other words, this makes a kickass boss battle theme. :D
Populous Master I know what Touhou is. I'm actually quite a bit fan of it, TBH. But still, it does sound like a Pokemon theme... somewhat. Still, either way, Yukari and this theme are both awesome. ^_^
Night Falls ~ Evening Star, this remix is completely different than the rest of CtC's remixes. Instead of emotional, it is especially powerful for a storyline that all character can't stop the tragic from happening. I guess this is the power of boundary, Yukari is at the different side of game.
Most of CtC's remixes are pumped up electro versions of Touhou tracks, but I have to agree. Besides G Free ~ Final Dream, this and Demystify Feast are the best boss themes in the game.
Garry Dumblowski? Indeed, CtC has some really good remixes. However, I can't agree with you completely, I found that CtC Night Falls lost a certain rhythm that could be found in IaMP version, without this rhythm, it makes Night Falls a little less menacing, but with the new rhythm, it sounds rather powerful. And that SWR version, well, it was very fast, very menacing. It takes Night Falls into a whole new level.

This version of Night Falls seems to carry the more hopelessness side of the storyline, she's fighting more out of desperation than being the classical mastermind-like person that is depicted by the original Evening Star. Here, however, she knows the battle means nothing but an attempt to prevent Marisa from advancing.
I've seen a lot of people comparing this remix to the AoCF one and saying the latter is much better. I still prefere this one, AoCF's is too chaotic-sounding to my liking.

I like Night Falls more than Necorfantasia and at least to me, it fits Yukari more than Necrofantasia, with that being said, I feel like Necrofantasia might work better as Mariabel's theme.

Concealed the Conclusion, if you haven't searched about it yet, is a fanmade game based on Touhou by danmaq. ZUN hasn't done any 'extra games' else than IaMP, SWR, UNL (which is an expansion pack for IaMP), and HM. All of the stated are actually collaborations with Twilight Frontier. Fairy Wars is actually a continuation of Strange and Bright Nature Deities vol 2, which it's plot was written by ZUN.
Considering that he knows about ZUN, I think it's quite okay to assume that he knows who made the Touhou series. But yeah, my bad, that was grammatically incorrect. ._.

Seriously, I know Nintendo's remaking Pokemon Yellow for their 20th anniversary, but if Colosseum and XD weren't made by them, just imagine how much they could expand and imrpove the Shadow Pokemon scenario! (P.S. it's being released on Nov 11 2016, exactly 20 years from the release of Pokemon Blue)
