you're awesome maam.. when i was little, my grandma from mexico would do all kinds of diy stuff like this and sometimes my friends would laugh. but honestly the jokes on them$😊
Thank you so much for your kind words. You're very fortunate to have a grandma like that! The ability to use what you have on hand to make something else you need is a dying skill. Thank you so much for visiting today!
Great DIY video for repurposing plastic mesh bags. Got a couple of these hanging around, now I know why I saved it. A Couple of years ago I tried to re purpose these bags into a produce bag. It worked but sure was ugly. Your scrubby I will use every day I am sure! Thanks for your video.
Awesome! So glad you're able to use this info and project! I have a video on making muslin re-usable produce bags I'll be posting soon. I wrote an article for Self Reliance Magazine on how to make them, back in 2015 I think? I used to sell them and mesh ones in an online store I no longer have. They're fun to make!
@@CanterburyTrailsFarm I think the Muslim produce bags are a great idea. Also cool you have an article published. Wish we were closer so we could Play.
I never thought of making them out if the produce bags, I make them out of Toule, Isaw some ladies who toolastic bags from Wal Mart and crochet blanketsfor the homeless. Such a neat way to not throw anything in the trash! I have been saving these bags for my co-op bags. So creative
@@OurUpperRoomHomestead Oh yes, the recycled mesh is great for that and some of the mesh is the more fabric type mesh and that is really easy on white porcelain sinks (what I have). I use salt or baking soda in a paste (water) with the scrubbers on my sink.
I first started doing this in the early 1990s. I had purchased a vintage cookbook at an estate sale, and there were several newspaper clippings from the 50s-70s stuck in the book. One of the clippings was a crafty type corner teaching how to make pot scrubbers from net potato bags...so I've been doing it ever since! I've been known to choose my potatoes based on the plastic net quality lol. Thank you for joining us today :)
Awesome video I am so glad you did this. It is a great use of something that is just thrown away. I use to make those but unfortunately I haven't been able to get anything but the bags that are almost cloth or string like. If you don't care I would like to feature this video when I do my Tipsy Tuesday viewers tips episode. Have a great day.
So happy could be of help! Thank you for featuring the video, that would be lovely. It does seem like periodically all you can find in the store are the fabric bags -- I'm not sure why that is. Sometimes potatoes will come in bags that are mesh on just one side. You can make a tube and then roll it out of the one side (cut from the bag). There are a few extra steps, but those work as well. Happy crafting!
