Japan is the only team that could consistently beat the USA because of that dominate pitching staff. Mexico basically got its 1 out of 100 times they play win.

@@davidriedy5977 gladly... 1. lot of Cuban defectors (living in the US, and descendants of Cuban defectors) showed up to the game to protest against the Cuban Communist Government with anti-communist signs and shirts. Most of them were forbidden to enter the stadium, or told not to wave the signs and/or turn their shirts inside out. A lot of stadium attendees were angry and still brought the signs and kept their shirts exposed. (You can see some of the people behind the batter and umpire with Anti-Che Guevara shirts and "Down with Communism" signs in spinish... 2. The crowd was chanting LIBERTAD! (Freedom) and holding up their hands (👆) L = Libertad... 3. There was a man who ran into the field with an Anti-Communist Cuba banner and was escorted off the field, but before he was completely removed he gave a bow and a wave. When I was watching the game that whole thing wasn't shown, it was posted on social media. That happened on the 6th inning (i think) when there was a delay and that one US player was sitting down in the feild. While waiting for the guy to be removed. ... just to name a few.

@@fanboyhex1555 interesting, I actually remember briefly seeing one of those Anti Che Guevara shirts on the broadcast, although I couldn't make out what the shirt said in that moment. There were 2 incidents of fans running on the field as well that I remember. Thank you for the explanation

i am glad that politics and sports got separated. whatever someone wants to protest for, do it at the right place and a baseball stadium is for joy of sports and not politics.

Most of the Cuban community based in Miami was supporting team USA because they didn’t feel represented by a team assembled by the same dictatorial government that forced them to abandon their homeland. The only players allowed in that team were those who hadn’t raised their voices against the injustices or questioned the Havana regime. Plus Moncada made some really coward comments to the press when asked about his political posture, clearly not wanting to upset his communist party masters. He was booed for that reason. I’m Cuban, I do not live in the US, and even myself was rooting for Mookie and the rest of the boys. The true Cuban team is Randy Arozarena and the other players that were not summoned due to their political standpoint. As an extra fact, all the major leaguers and players in general that defected the Cuban national team were called traitors and way more at some point by that same government.

I know...which is why I’m happy to see that a lot of our superstars actually decided to play this time. Much respect to the rest of the world because they’re clearly talented but it was a shame watching the US lose in the past knowing that most of their talent wasn’t even interested in playing,

Alot of their best players aren't allowed to play due to politics of all things. If they were, they'd be a top 3 team consistently. They are technically a handicapped team
