Hey TLM! Controlling Steinberg-Plugins only via Q-Controls is wrong. Cubase is known to be THE DAW with MIDI-Possibilities all over the place! It would be a shame for Steinberg, if you could not control any midi-device the way you want it! Heres the thing: Go to the "Studio"-Tab, then choose Studio Setup. Then click on the + on the upper left side. Choose "Generic Remote". Now in the added "Generic Remote"-Tab, choose your Behringer FCB1010 to be the Midi-Input. Now you should be able to assign the pedal, via "learn"- function, for example "fader 1" in the upper task. Now you have to assign that controller to "Fader 1" to the WahWah-Pedal of the VSTAmpRack in the lower task: (AmpRack (or any VST) has to be inserted to any Cubase-Insert/Send or what ever.) In the lower zone look for "Device" and choose "VST-Mixer" from the dropdown. Next under "Channel/Category" select the channel where VSTRack is inserted from the dropdown. Under "Value/Action" from the the dropdown choose "Ins 1 VST Amp Rack" and scroll down to WahWahPost/Pre. There you have it! Now you are able to control almost every parameter of cubase via midi, even program Commands. Check out the "Device" task (and its sub tasks). You can also add multiple Generic Controllers, with different devices, midi-channels, setups what ever and save it to your harddisk. I hope this helps! Great video! I still have one specific question. The foot controller it can be programmed other than toggle mode? For example if I would like to use for articulation key switching, there always I need a midi message when the button is pushed down and indifferent how long I keep my foot on that, no more messages has to be sent. Eventually, the led to indicate the last selection or nothing.

Hey, thanks for this video. I recently bought an FCB1010, and I really like it. I'm primarily using the controller to change my rack presets in Guitar Rig 5 and I have assigned various functions to the expression pedals. So far, I am struggling with using the FCB inside Cubase 11. One of my main GR presets is my main heavy rig, and I have assigned one pedal as a volume pedal and the other to control preset volume and distortion/gain levels. But none of that information is present when I open Cubase, where I have GR inserted as a VST plug-in. Do I need to reprogram everything inside Guitar Rig's Components like I did to assign the expression pedals when I use GR as a stand-alone? Or do I need to create a MIDI track as you did in this video? Thanks again. Peace.

HI, thank you for the guide. I have a question.. I've programmed the FCB1010 button number 1 for the Screamer, but the Screamer only turns on as long as I press the number 1 pedal. If I release the pedal, it turns off. Is there any configuration on FCB 1010 for this?

Cool video. How would you rate the steiberg guitar amp, from 1 to 10 ? Yeah, the quick controls were a great idea, it worked perfectly with the cmc controller series... the cmc-qc can be found for very cheap, today. If steinberg hadn't been so fuking greedy, by selling each cmc units for 'only' 150 bucks, and had sold it for 50-$70 each unit, they would have sold millions and millions. .. But 150 bucks for just a tiny controller. . Even the biggest steinberg fanboy didn't blindly jump on it. This being said, i was able to grab a cmc qc, ai and ch, for very cheap. Frankly, it works great with Cubase, being able to control those quick controls with a cmc-qc controller, is just fantastic. One thing that is great, is we can create presets for the quick control panel. We could, eg, create a preset, to control the volume, pan, gain, low/high cut, etc etc, and have it automatically assigned to an audio track. That way, when we select a particular audio track, we can immediately start adjusting the volume, gain, pan, etc etc. Steinberg had a true gold mine, with these units. ..damn, they were selling a little enclosure for 3 units. . For 150 bucks ! Ps. It's great to see you posting so often ! Keep those videos coming, man :)

If you haven't figured it out yet, or for anyone watching this video hoping to find the answer, each foot switch pedal can be configured to send a different CC value for the expression pedal. So for instance if you stepped on pedal 1, then moved the expression pedal it may be sending CC value 1. If you stepped on pedal 2, then moved the expression pedal it may be sending CC value 2, etc. Whoever programed the board before you probably wanted to control 2 different effects depending on which foot switches they had engaged. You'll just need to program it to send the same value, regardless of which foot switch is 'activated'. Hope that helps!
