Cube Bead Tutorial with Peyote Stitch

Leslie demonstrates how to make a square using peyote stitch, then how to build up two squares to make a cube bead that can be strung or used as an element on its own. Knowledge of peyote stitch is helpful.
Materials: size 11/0 delica beads or seed beads, 6# fireline, #10 needle.

OMGosh! I'm so glad I stumbled across this tutorial. Now I know how to cover the backs of my square cabochons (you know, the glass with paper glued to the back). Anxious to give this cube beaded bead and backing my square cabs right away. Thanks so much!

I found a really fast/easy way to get the middle of the 3 beads to sit down properly: I use a pair of fine tweezers to stick in the holes of the 2 outside beads, then let the tweezers pull the beads apart and the middle bead 'drops' down into place. Takes seconds! :)

is there a way to build up a top without the zipping it together step? I'd like to find a way to make a cube that shifts into a closed tube to look like a cactus in a planter box 🌵
