Is it just me or do you guys also feel a bit excited when Rin is approaching the end of a sketchbook? It could mean a sketchbook tour in a not-so-distant future 👀
@@Erin-js9dtdue to health issues she’s been MIA. we haven’t gotten content in a while because she is thankfully focusing on her health and physically cannot make videos anymore. i think this comment was made before her first update in a year that she was alive and well via community tabs.
Rin's videos are magical. Lemme explain: Everything is family friendly, so I can play it anywhere. Even my mum likes them! I get so inspired to draw along with them. Even older videos are great to replay while sketching. They're really soothing to watch when I'm anxious, and it even helps me sleep. I absolutely adore Rin's personality and art style, and I look forward to her posting 💕💖💝💞💘💓💗
i'm struggling really bad with anxiety and depression these past few months and going to art school is really hard for me lately, but watching your videos and seeing you brainstorming and creating something helps me to relax at least for a few minutes. thank you for being here 💜 p.s.: rin be my bestie and drawing buddy im begging you HSJSSJJS
For some reason, I usually start feeling a bit of depression around this time of year, every year. I have no clue why because I'm normally a happy person. It could be the weather and changing of seasons that has something to do with it. Usually art, specifically adult coloring, is what makes me feel better whenever I'm feeling down or stressed, or having anxiety. I try to do things to keep my mind off of the way I'm feeling, because if we focus on how we're feeling, it tends to intensify those feelings. I hope you feel better soon! God bless you!
@@silvers_ink it might be SAD (seasonal affective disorder), which is an actual thing but has a (imo) really funny name. SAD is seasonal depression, of which there are two types. the first, and most common, is winter pattern SAD, which usually begins around late autumn/early winter and goes through late winter/early spring. it is often treated with vitamin D supplements and/or light therapy (sitting in front of a light box for ~40 minutes, usually in the morning). winter pattern SAD is characterized by (along with the basic major depression symptoms), overeating, hypersomnia, and basically is what I think of as human hibernation. summer pattern SAD is pretty much the opposite, starting in late spring/early summer and ending at the end of summer or the start of fall. there aren't any summer pattern SAD specific treatments, since it isn't super common. its symptoms include restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, inability to eat, and those of major depression. so... yeah. sorry, I finished writing this and realized that it was super long, but I wrote a ~10 page paper on depression earlier this year so now I have all this random information on depression and I don't know what to do with it lol. anyway, I hope you feel better than you did when you made your comment! the OP too.
Just here to say that in this period I’ve had issue with my body as well and your videos and art have made me smile a bit more day by day. I’m sorry that your health has not been good lately and I seriously wish you the best, you have a beautiful soul, Rin.
Please could you draw a person representing a fun, sociable girl because huh my birthday is coming on Sunday. My name is keziah, I am in Ghana but not trash .I am 9-10 years and I love drawing. Thank you
I came back to your channel after a year or so of not watching ; and I'm so glad to be back, it's so refreshing. You're so positive and kind and fun to draw with. {Side note : I'm drawing a page of close-up details as well as a full-body drawing of one of my characters}
Yes!!!! Another ZenPop box!! Between the contents of the boxes and the art you create from it, I just can’t handle the cuteness of these videos! 😍 Edit: proud of your crayon pronunciation! Lol but I 100% agree about the grid notebooks for organizing. They’re top tier. Edit 2: YOUR PIXEL ART IS SO ADORABLE! I have loved captain America for years so I about DIED when you showed him!!
I ended up going to college for art, and I have no doubt that your videos were partially responsible for getting me there. I learned today that my art friend has also watched you since forever! Thank you for all you've done to inspire upcoming artists. You've left a huge mark in my life! :)
I always love seeing what you come up with in these ZenPop videos, it always turns out beautifully! So excited to start watching! I hope your recovery is going better, Rin! And I hope you're able to get your medicine straightened out. I'm so happy to see a video from you, but I hope you don't feel pressured to post. We all just want what's best for you! Take as much time as you need 💜
So in case anyone was curious about what creatures on the stickers. In order: 1. Dumbo Octopus (Pearl from Nemo) 2. Sea rabbits (they are adorable and photosynthesize) 3. Spotted Garden eels (Love how Rin just called them Socks and from now on they should be called that) 4. Oarfish (Myths say they can spot calamity) 5. Dolphins 6. Racoon Butterfly fish with a normal silver fish (cant really tell what the silver fish is, could be any thousands of species) 7. Sun Fish and a Manta Ray or Sting ray. (Could be either and no they arent the same animal, Manta rays are bigger and have defined wings while Sting rays are rounded shape) 8. Blue Tang and Moorish Idol (Dory and Gill from Nemo) 9. Sea rabbits again 10. Clown Fish (Nemo) 11. Great white shark 12. Jellyfish I know this comment will go in the abyss of the comment section but wanted to share in case anyone was curious and honestly these stickers are just adorable. Rin has been my inspiration as an artist for years and out of all the art youtubers I watch she has taught me the most and binge watching her videos at the end of the day brings a smile on my face. Thanks for always putting out such great videos and cant wait to see what interesting art suppy you use next time 😊
"Oh, don't feel like taking out the trash? Do it anyway!" "That's what I thought, simple advice, but it goes a long way. That's your advice for the day!" Waffles rhyming skills are unparalleled.
Yes yes yes!!! I’m so thrilled to hear from you! I have been doing some deep dives into old content to hold me over. Sending all the healing thoughts and love ❤
@@drawingwiffwaffles my favorites are the subscription boxes like scrawler box. I love to see what you can do with the supplies especially when you use the prompt.
Your videos make my day! Thank you for continuing to work hard on them even if you don’t feel like it sometimes I understand burn out especially with art.❤️
Oh yes! I have been on the fence of getting a zen pop subscription for awhile now, and still can’t make up my mind! This video definitely gave me a lot of inspiration to draw today! Thank you waffles! (Also at 6:07 the “whatever that is.” Is a nudibranch! My personal favorite animal! Give them a google! 😊 they’re a kind of sea slug! They’re names means “naked gill.” I owned one for a long while!)
Rin, because of you i wanted Ohuhu markers,so when i got a job i bought them, thank you for introducing me to them, and i love when you get close to the end of a sketch book, when i get close to the end of one of mine i panic because i dont have another sketch book after it lol
I was having such a crappy day and it literally makes no sense why seeing the notification you had a new video made me feel better... other than I could watch and not have to stress about medical stuff for a short time. Thank you for having great timing 🙏🏾
AHH i love washi tape! so it’s basically used for decoration, on a card, a notebook, letters, or using it to decorate journal spreads which is what i use them for! they’re very versatile
I miss her uploads, I've watched all of her vids, and love them. Rin, can you post at least one more time. your art is so awesome and has inspired me so much.
So happy to see you back and at it Rin! I’ve been praying for you and I hope your feeling better! Art is like medicine and it makes me so happy to see you happy and get to making art! 💖 Now I wanna draw!
You have some of the best character design skills on RU-vid. I really wish Jazza would do a collab with you, I think you two together would kill it in a collab.
This is one of my favorites!!! I love the look of pixel art. I have been trying to finish a birthday piece for my best friend. Hopefully I can finish it before then. I am gonna try my best. Thank you for the inspiration ☺️❤️ your videos help a lot and they are very healing too. I’m truly grateful ❤️
Hello Rin! I'm so happy you continue to do what you do, you are such an incredible inspiration for me! If it were not for you I would never have gotten into art and enjoyed it! Thank you so much We love you Rin! ❤
Watching and just wondering if you are doing okay 🥹 missing your amazing self on RU-vid that’s for sure. Patiently waiting for you to post, really hoping you’re off doing happy things❤️
Thank you so so much for showing your entire drawing process, especially when you redraw the same thing until it looks right. I have struggled with my art because I’m afraid it won’t be perfect, but you have given me the confidence to just keep trying and have fun with it!
Oh man digital pixel art is stressful enough, can't imagine doing it traditionally so massive kudos to you! The colour palette gives me big Stardew Valley vibes haha
This is the first time iv commented on one of your videos as far as I can remember, and honestly I don’t know if you will ever see this but I wanted to say thank you! Your art and videos inspired me a lot at a young age, I’m 15 now and I’m still drawing tho iv struggle with art being more of an addiction than a hobby I love art endlessly and have learned so much from you. You were on of the fist artists I ever found that showed the process of how you created art in an easy to understand way showing the steps and your thinking in an unrushed way that allowed me to learn from you. Your artistic Abilities fascinated me. iv wanted to draw like you since I was a kid who stumbled upon one of your videos. =)
I kinda dropped off of art for awhile but I’m getting back into it and your videos are so relaxing to just listen to even if I’m not drawing along. I’m one of those people who always needs some kind of audio in the background of anything and everything and just listening to you is quite relaxing which is something I need 💜🫂 I hope your health improves 💜 I feel that as a fellow human with health issues 🥺
I'm so glad your back to making videos and feeling better you always inspire me to draw something!!! Also real excited for a possible sketch book tour in the near future ☺️
I’ve gotta say, your videos make my day. I’m always so excited to see them and want to rush to watch. I’ve had a very hard year and it’s nice to always find joy where ever I can find it. 🙏🏻 thank you 😊
Whatever you post, whatever art you make, it's always OUR pleasure, so thank YOU! Btw I got super nostalgia from the 2010s now, and Lauren the-gamer-girl is adorable! I feel like drawing her... Heck yeah! ❤
As you kept adding more to her outfit I was like, “how is she drawing my closet from 2011??” High school days were definitely brought back to my mind haha 😂 anyone else feel the same??
I’m so happy whenever you upload, you help me come up with things to draw and I got into college! I’m going to study art and I need to thank you for keeping me interested in art for so long even when I found no want to draw. Thank you rin
I have been watching for a long while and haven't said a thing, but I'm saying it now. Your art is so darn cute! I'm looking forward to your next sketches and sketchbook tour! You inspire me to find my own style of drawing. I've been praying for you to get better so you can continue to spread the cute artwork.
Watching you draw and how positive you are with the mistakes you make just gets me in a drawing mood! And when you draw something you dont really like, you always laugh and are positive about it! Which encourages me so much!
Thank you, Rin, for being a huge motivation and inspiration in creating art. I use your videos so often to motivate me and inspire me when drawing, I say as I'm doing so. I'm sorry about recent issues regarding your health, but I hope you can overcome these problems and stay strong through them. We're all rooting for you!
I feel you on the adrenaline front. I have been dealing with some issues with potential Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have been finding some time to sketch and draw again. I'm sure it's a total release for you when you get to create. I can only imagine what creating must take out of you though with everything going on. I get emotional and so happy to see you post! I always worry when you're quiet but I'm happy that you're taking this time for your body and letting yourself go through the medication and giving it the rest you need. (Even if it's hard. I so understand that too, I'm a mom and I try to do everything for my kiddo.)
I’m running out of old videos to watch :( i meeeed more. You're my comfort RU-vidr and you have giving me so much inspiration and motivation when it comes to getting back into drawing. I’ll even take like a 5 min video or something. Hope you're doing alright. Can’t wait to get some new wAfflevideos to eat up.
I’m finishing the sketch of a lobster to paint while I watch, I figured out I really love painting things like frogs and shrimp bc of the way the skin is shiny I find the layering with gouache rlly fun :D
I have been sick for about a month and haven't been able to draw. I miss it so much, but have been feeling anxious about picking up my sketchbook. This video came at the perfect time because I find you inspiring. And motivating.. "just do it anyways" Thank you
My favorite art RU-vidr is back! Take care dear, I always look forward to your posts but I'm so happy you are taking care of yourself too. 🥰 Best wishes.
Honestly I’m not sad that she hasn’t been uploading, I just wanna know if she’s okay. I hope she’s doing well and that she’s still drawing. Maybe she’ll see my comment and feel a little bit better knowing that there people out there that genuinely care for her.
I was just thinking about you and hoping you would post and then you did!!! I love seeing your work and can't wait to see what you come up with! I love studio ghibli and you it's the perfect combo! Going to get a brand new Illo soon and I can't wait to draw with inspiration from you!
I'm always so happy to see a video from you! I'm also struggling with illness, and it's really soothing to see your videos! Thank you so much, and all my support to you! And now, i'll grab a sketchbook ❤
I was rubbish in art classes as a child - Maybe the teachers didn't inspire or were too rigid in their approach. Throughout adult life I've wanted to draw but have always found that books or courses tell you to do it like this or like that. However, finally at 48, I sat down with a piece of printer paper and a black ink fineliner to draw whatever. I started with some cartoon characters, a ninja, a giraffe and the Hulk - very eclectic choices! Each time it's my own style. I discovered in the last year that I'm autistic, which has been a huge positive and life changing experience. I love the black ink fineliner for the way it feels as I draw - I have my own style (who knows what I've picked up from books and the internet subconsciously over the years!) I love the fact that my mistakes are not erased and I love how I can gently persuade the lines into the shape I want. I finding out how difficult it is to do light and dark with one black pen and exploring different ways of representing it - without any overt inspiration from other sources. I love the experience because it's for me and it's my art. It's a representation of me and how I feel. This video is one of the best I have ever seen. The reason is that while you set out to show off one style you recognised and chose to move to a style that brought you joy. That made those second lot of sketches amazing. They were you. I'm not an aspiring artist but I have found joy in my drawing (which I do sometimes share with others as I'm proud of them) and I found your video today really inspiring. Thank you :)
I absolutely love your art and thought process while drawing ❤ but im currently drawing a girl in some rain 🌧️ Always love your videos im pretty sure there isn’t one that i could dislike lol
Hey waffles! Hope your doing okay. Your videos always inspire me to draw! Edit: I was drawing along with you! I was designing a shapeshifter character that can turn into different animals but the colours of them are always the same.
I always wonder why I do certain things while drawing and I’ve come back to Rin’s videos and I’m just like. “Ah. So they’re *stolen* habits” These videos helped me with my art journey more than I realized.
You uploaded at the perfect time!! I’m about to start my new sketchbook, but I have no ideas lol. Your videos always give me inspiration! Also, I hope you’re doing well, Rin, I read your community posts a while ago & I’ve been hoping & praying for you to feel better! Much love ❤️❤️
I’m always SO excited to see a video of yours pop up! Especially now that you’re not uploading so frequently (which I think is the best choice you could have made for yourself, sending you all the love and good wishes for your health ❤) it feels that much more special and I enjoy every second!
@@drawingwiffwaffles I'm sorry to read you're fighting something new. I feel like I've experienced most of the complications my illness has to offer. It's very frustrating, but I'm so proud of you for "doing it anyway". You've got this even if doesn't feel like it. Just take it 1 day, 1 hr or even 1min at a time. That's all perseverance really is. You're often in my prayers, Rin.
I started watching your videos right at the beginning of quarentine. They really inspired me to learn to draw. It’s something that has never brought me stress and allows me to express myself. I even used to be a perfectionist but drawing has helped me overcome that completely. I’m always excited to challenge myself and learn more about art. It’s been a little more than 3 years now and I still watch your videos. I even went to an art camp last summer and now I’m going again and I even got a scolarship! I cannot imagine where I would be now without watching my first video of yours. Thank you!
Hi Rin, I found your videos about half a year ago when I had really stopped drawing. With the stresses of everyday life and some health issues, it's been hard finding my way back to drawing but thanks to you and my fiancé, I have found inspiration again and have actually learned a lot more than I ever would've if I just gave up. Thank you for being your wonderful self, and it's so nice to see you posting again 💚💙
Ive been around a long time, thank you for being you 💜 I really appreciate your positivity, you help me more than you know, thank you 💜💜💜 I hope all is well
Mt Fuji and Wheels are my fav. reoccurring characters. I'm happy your back and doing well! I'm doing a redraw your childhood art challenge while watching. TY for new video!
