I've been trying to learn this cube business for several weeks now, and honestly I think you could follow this episode up with one or two more at the beginner level. It's a lot to soak in. People completely new may wonder things like what should I keep in mind if I try to mash together a few commander precons, several Card Kingdom battle decks, etc.
Showing the mtgcube subreddit being private is so funny to me. I spent so much time there over the years looking at old threads, so many years of interesting information. Now all gone.
Even the editor is stumped. It isn't in the editing timeline he has saved and presumably used to render the video. We could repost it without the sound, but I find it more fun to have the mystery.
Great to see more content from you guys! This video seems a bit like a 'reset' so I am very interested in seeing what your future videos contain. Please keep the content coming!
Definitely! You can base your cube off the Commander Legends set or change the rules however you like. Commander is a little tricky to draft because of rules such as color identity but it's entirely up to you how much or how little that matters in your environment.
Yes! This is a non-answer but you can do whatever you want. "cube" is whatever you want it to be. You can make a "jumpstart" cube where you take two halves of decks and shuffle and play. You can do a commander-draft. Cube is about taking Magic and making it your own.
Thanks for the input all, yeah I figured there might be some more tricky balancing aspects to respect things like colour identity, have a few ideas for how to make it work with the LOTR set so might give it a try.
Yes! I was Game Knights who had Brandon Sanderson a few years ago with a Commander cube. I think there is an episode where he talks about the cube and the addtiional designed cards he added into the cube to help level out the draft process.
