“Cubist Architecture: The Villa Savoye” presents cubist principles of Le Corbusier’s 1928-31 house: the conceptual modernity of a “machine to live in,” light coming from multiple sources that are not readily identifiable, and the “free plan” that brings a playful inside/outside ambiguity. Moving up and around the ramp is like walking into an architectural collage, where the visitor can participate at his leisure in the cubist experience.
