In France, nearly eight out of ten people regularly go behind the stove. Synonymous with sharing, fun, and a real cure for gloom, cooking is fast becoming one of the French's favorite pastimes. The trend is currently to the right product and there is something for everyone: cooking classes, privatization of restaurants, forgotten cookbooks, grand chef in your living room, vintage accessories and other high-tech household robots. The pleasure of the taste buds is today a flourishing business. Luxury fast-food restaurants are emerging, while top-rated chefs are playing the "low price" card. More and more of them are leaving their jobs for the furnaces of a restaurant. Where does this French craze for cooking come from? How is this success explained?
