Thanks for the fix! Much appreciated. I wouldn't say they are "notorious" as mine only started leaking after 13 years of use! It's been a great coffee machine

Thank you sir for posting this! You just saved my coffee maker from going into the landfill. My hose was split right at the end where it connects to the heating element so I was able to cut the end off and stretch the existing hose to make it work.

I just replaced the hoses on my DCC-1200. Make sure you gently pull out the ONE-WAY valve that is INSIDE the old hose that connects to the supply side of the heating element. It has a small plastic ball inside it that acts as a valve to prevent the heated water NOT to flow backwards into the Water reservior. Make sure you put it back in in the PROPER direction. The 1 foot section of hose stated in this video is enough to replace BOTH hoses.

Hi...just watched your video. Thank you for the information. I see people are asking for the link to buy the hose. If you already have it, great. If not, I just ordered mine thru Amazon. I Google searched theses words..."FACTORY SERVICES HIGH TEMPERATURE SILICON TUBING .312 ID X .472 OD". That brought up the list tha had the link to that same "brick red" colored tubing shown in your video. It comes in a 12 inch length.

First off let me thank you for posting the video, ours just started flowing water out the bottom. ours is only 1 1/2 yrs. old, my wife was mad about that. turns out that the longer hose popped off at the bottom. {or top when turned upright.} when I took the top clamp off by the heating element it just pulled up too easy !! I don't believe the clamp on the bottom was ever put on the right way. it had 4 spring clamps and the hoses were o.k. witch leads me to think the spring clamp was never in the right position from the get go. once I was able to put the hose back on and made sure the clamp was put on right it works fine. I believe someone on the production line screwed up by not positioning that clamp over the post.

Can you add the Amazon link for the tubing? I looked on Amazon but I’m not sure if it’s the right one.

This is very helpful, but I ran into a brick wall at square one. Has anyone had any problems removing the 4 screws holding the base on? I bought a Torx 10 screwdriver since my hex-drive tip wouldn't reach the screws. I was able to remove three of the screws, but the fourth doesn't have a Torx head. With a flashlight and a magnifying glass, I have determined that it has a flat head with no slot, Phillips head, or Torx recess in it. I even got a pretty good photo of it on my cellphone. And the bottom plate is still held tight on that corner. Any suggestions?

Seems you have to drill out the screw or use some sort of reverse twist easy-out drill bit that would bite into the screw head and facilitate removal. Eight months later, how did it go?
