Culex 3D In 4 Turns | Super Mario RPG Remake 

Honestly I feel this 🥲

Due to how the fight works, it's not posible. Even if you defeat culex turn 1, the crystals will sacrifice themselves to revive him IIRC.

Challenge accepted. Super star jumps it it and kill the crystals and him at same time 😂

I beat Dark Sun in Miitopia in a hybrid challenge run in 54 turns and clutched with my warrior and one mage.

Took me exactly 49 turns too, even throwing out my strongest attacks.

@@lewis9s38 for me, and once I noticed to always be topped off right after his countdown attack, it was just a matter of keeping calm and slowly chipping them away. Can’t quite get the perfect timing of his 9999 Claw attack, but one day.

@@sny_guy Any advice for a good way to get more super jumps consistently?

@@DaZeebo it’s tough because different things work for different people but my advice is to focus on the “knocking” sound that starts to happen after jump 7. Don’t focus on the “1up” sound. Also make sure you are holding the controller in a way that it doesn’t move AT ALL.

Meanwhile my first try was 28 turns, and I'm just glad to be done with the game and dont care to spend hours trying to beat my record over and over due to what it inevitably entails, which I dont find fun.

That’s my problem, I don’t get they do this so “casually” I think I’ve watch every super jump tip video on the remake and can’t get past 65 atm.

Level 23 and 21 turns is still impressive. Very impressive. I was level 26 and it took me 36 turns. And I barely had my equipment in order. I had no idea he debuffs you and the accessories.

1 turn is impossible it has 9999 HP and if 3D Culex dies first all 4 Crystals will shatter and will Revive Culex doing 9999 damage to Culex is hard enough BEFORE the 4 turns Meteor Count hits zero even once so doing 18,000 damage to Culex would be nearly impossible to do for a 2 turns kill.

My first time was an even 30 on the dot!!

Sadly Culex is immune to the BS that is Geno Whirl.

and I believe so are the 4 Crystals being immune to it the Snifits (Booster) rematch it does work on too bad MOST of the time I had to HIT booster to prevent the full party 9999 damage attack EVERY turn Geno got so I don't have time to use it then Booster however is immune.

The only way I've been able to manage it was with the joy cons attached to the switch. Apparently there's just too much latency when using a wireless controller

I did not know that the crystals will revive him. I focused on taking the crystals out first in both 2D & 3D modes and it took me 56 turns. I would’ve been so heated if I was doing that grind for that long and this asshole just popped back up like that lol

I think I tried over 200 times to get it in 3 turns and I just couldn’t clutch up 😩

Earth crystal has 3780 HP in breezy??? That would be the only road block I think.

@@sny_guy My calcs used Mallow getting Atk on levels 3, 6, 9... etc and magic on the rest. That gets him +30 atk at the cost of losing 10 magic attack (it makes the combo of two uses of Star Rain and one use of Clown Car do 30 more damage on average. Relevant for trying to 2 turn Breezy, but not for trying to 3 turn Normal). Anyway, with the same strategy, my calcs say 2 Star Rains and Clown Car should do 3322 to Earth Crystal on average. We're 458 off. Now, the Lazy Shell weapon variance is +/- 50, and that should translate to 166 damage variance for Clown Car. I don't think Mallow and Bowser's weapons have as high variance, so it's probably out of reach (and then you're still looking at an extremely unlikely RNG roll for everything to roll high). The last resort would be for Mario to start taking some Atk level ups. Each of his +2 atk level ups contributes an extra 6.67 to the Clown Car, but then you're risking 100 Super Jumps plus 100 Ultra Jumps not killing Culex. It's extremely tight and maybe TAS only to get lucky enough (and then still hit 200 Jumps the one attempt you get that lucky)

@@thanderhop1489 damn you are ON IT. The rng part is the part that scares me. Clown car not killing the wind crystal and then getting special locked on normal difficulty might be the most frustrating thing ever after getting 100 super jumps on Culex.

In this new version the timing window has been doubled, it's a big deal makes a huge difference on how much easier it's got

About that even in this version I could barely do 10 Super jump hits so theirs still way I could do 100 of them.

Mallow is so good. Between magic damage and hitting with 2 different elements….

Indeed, I feel like a lot of people have always slept on Mallow because he is not 'cool' enough for them. I have always liked Mallow anyway due to him being the wizard archetype and I love those. ♥

I love Mallow and I was sad because I thought only I liked him.

Mallow was buffed for the remake. Geno was the strongest previously, and also embodied half of the things we found cool as kids

The team buffs you get for keeping up your timed hit chain ended up buffing magic damage by a huge amount anytime Mallow is on screen.

Mallows star is too damn good for real.

That's a BIG if to this day even on the SNES version I could barely top even 10 super jump hits and even 1 TIMED hit for Mallow's Star rain move making both useless against 3D Culex here.

Swear Mallow was slept on by alot of people in the original.

@@rei. I don’t think so but the Earth crystal is immune to jump and that would have been my only option.

@@sny_guy I mean, the Snowy you did to KO the Earth Crystal would be enough. It was right before Culex did his turn, which is when the turn counter ticks up. You'd just have to get him within a 400 hp window with the Super Jumps.
