Eldritch Horror solo, 4 characters, Cryo Chamber music, and write a journal for each one as new events happen. Its sooo good! One of the most immersive experiences I've found in board games. Writing a journal for each character is a really interesting way to play, it takes forever but the stories last with you for ages, and it's fun to see your writing improve over time (I'm far from a legit writer, but it's fun to mess around lol).
Ooh man! A cull session. LoL. I would love to see and hear Francis’s cull picks, or is he even allowed to cull anything? Yarharhar. Fun vid. Pure torture. This is something every gamer should exercise from time to time. No matter how difficult. Better if recorded like this. These vids are better than rage quitters for me.
I have been culling some of my games (for real) and I know how difficult these decisions can be. Good job on trying this exercise! ETA: Underwater Cities has a great solo mode, if you have not tried it.

You should def try viticulture with tuscany! We don't play without it now! It would make a fun stream too ☺ Would love to hear your thoughts on Nusfjord solo if you have a chance to try it. Lovely video as always, enjoyed it with my sunday morning coffee
Honestly kinda proud of myself because even though I haven't been able to keep up with all of your board game content, I still knew a couple of the definite keeps :)
Just recently played Underwater Cities. It was a long time but felt shorter. I enjoyed it. As with any worker placement game, there’s that tension that someone will take your spot. The card play is nice, and has those cools end game cards that anyone can buy. Also, Alchemists! It’s so much better that Arnak. It’s a great worker placement game with a deduction game included! Ugh, I think I need some time to relax.
Wow, cool to see all of your games. I think mostly you did great. I also put some games out of my places. I am proud of my 6 year old daugther, as she gave up half of her little children games away. We play already Cascadia, 7 Wonders Architects, Dungeon Mayhem, which she loves hahaha.
Wrong choice with Tuscany. The fact that you did not try means you at least needed to try and also Tuscany is essential for me as an expansion to Viticulture base which was too diluted Also a wrong choice to cull is Underwater Cities which is Vladimir Suchy's best game and also a solid solo imo.
Oh dear. The Isle of Cats is going. From the shelf behind u, If’s the only one in it. 😂😢. I only have a 3x4 Kallax atm and am starting to run out of space. I might need to start merging boxes to one (expansions). Hopefully will get one cube free. Cross fingers. My heart just got ripped when u culled Eldritch Horror. 😅
Hahaha I havent played viticulture with tuscany yet either, btu reading through the comments really makes me feel like I'm missing out!! I even own it!! I loved Betrayal when I was first getting into board games, but it's kinda felt really chaotic and unbalanced as I've played other types of games. D: What hard decisions! I definitely felt your pain!!! I think if I had to cull one, it would be "That Time You Killed Me," I think... It's cute, but it feels so much like chess (which I stink at)!
16:00 I 100% agree with you! That is one of my least favorite games. I don’t like all the chaos, having to read the rules to the scenario (especially when you are the traitor and so you have to read them alone) - I also don’t like how there are 2 sets of rules, and nobody knows what the heck is going on DURING the game - until afterwards.
You: "I haven't played this one yet, so I'm going to get rid of it." Me: "But...but...but the potential!!!!!" You: "Francis really likes this one, but I'm not a fan...so it goes." Me: 😂🤣🤣😂
Agree on a lot of fronts here!!! Haha seems a lot of us want you to keep Tuscany 😄 Let us know if you ever do end up culling Underwater Cities…. maybe we can trade for something 😁
Seems like if you're on the fence for any game, it's time to donate it to the library. You're going to keep getting more as part of your job / hobby. There will be another game with the same theme or mechanics out in the future.
Loved the video! Off topic, but do you have any plans to talk about which boardgames from Essen Spiel you think look the most interesting? I know you didn't go, I just really connect with your picks when it comes to boardgames to look out for/keep an eye on
I don't get why it would have to be 'per shelf'. Glad you didn't really get rid of games like that cause you scared me at first. Please don't feel a 'social media pressure' to do 'challenges' (theoretically is ok but don't go through with it if that's not something you want) Don't know who came up with 'per shelf' culling but it makes no sense whatsoever: your shelf behind your table are your fav and we tend to put games we like together (noticed that on most gamer channels). So basically, you could have a few lower shelves (let's say 3 shelves) full of 'meh' or 'ok I guess' games but if you took only 1 per shelf would only get rid of 1 in there. That leaves you with maybe 30+ other 'meh' games (10 per shelf). Then you go through 20 more shelves of games you really like or love and get rid of 20. Result of culling: 10 meh game and 20 great games culled. Instead you could only have gotten rid of all the 30 'meh' games by emptying all those 'meh' shelves and kept your 20 good games. The only way I'm ever culling my collection is by feel: do I like playing this anymore? Do I force myself to play it and still find it meh? Do I think if I don't play it a while my interest will rekindle?
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Doesnt make sense if you have things like “favorite game shelves” or the shelves of just Viticulture and Wingspan plus expansions. Just shove the expansion items in the main box???
Could send Funfair my way... maybe Micro Macro too! Otherwise, I wouldn't have culled Underwater Cities, but I'm not sire what I would have culled since I've not played the others on its shelf.
Of all the Uwes you chose to cull Indian Summer?! its the most beautiful one! and just a tad more thinky than cottage garden! i cant tell you what i would cull though because thats the only one that i know the play, the rest i only know the story.
Dude, I think I’m only person who’s ok with just base Viticulture. I’ve had plenty of fun with the base game. People have a heart on for Tuscany. The base game is fine as is people! Get off your high horse.
NOT TUSCANY! The rest would be easier for me to let go. ( apart from Deception Murder in HK which is fantastic for those occasions where you have a larger party sized group- it’s a keeper for me) I look forward to your West Kingdom reviews & comparisons, I like them all for different reasons- I haven’t played with all the expansions yet. I heard that one of new ones for Architects makes it as good a solo experience as Viscounts. Viscounts is brilliant solo. Tuscany should be part of the base game; it completes Viticulture.
Great video. Sad to Deception not work for you, I’ve had some great plays of it. I do get it’s hard to table because of player count, but I always try to keep a couple of fun high player count games in my collection. Deception does work best at 8 so you can have the accomplice and the witness. A better 3 or 4 or more social deduction game I’d say is Night of the Ninja. Everyone says Tuscany is THE expansion that makes Viticulture great. I know some people really do love Betrayal, but it seems the person who triggers the haunt realllly has to know what they are doing. However, I’ve heard the Scooby Doo: Betrayal at Mystery Manor game is the best version of it. I love Everdell, Creature Comforts, Tenpenny Parks, and Barenpark, so I’m glad you kept them. A video idea for this month: what is your top 10 favorite Spooky games (they don’t even have to be in your collection, just games you’ve played or demoed). :)
Betrayal is easy to get rid of because of availability but I disagree in terms of fun. It is fun, and you aren't spose to take it seriously at all. It is crazy unbalanced and you need to go into it with the Scooby Doo quirky mentality. I like Eldritch. I would have gotten rid of Takenoko. It's cute but is really dry after a couple plays. Getting rid of games is always hard
I’ve been culling for real. It’s tough, but afterwards satisfying to look at your shelf and see all games you love - and play. Btw, just a small thing - Uwe is pronounced Oo-vuh (not Oo-vay)😊
36:15 But are you ok with “Take That” and being mean in games? Because if not, Funfair is the better choice than Unfair - and you should wait and hope they make those modules for Funfair.
