Cullompton Community College's prom night was nothing short of a blockbuster event as students made their grand entrance at Woodbury Park Hotel on Tuesday, June 25.
From tractors to limousines, sports cars to classic beauties, and even an articulated lorry, the event was a dazzling display of creativity and style, marking the end of an era with a bang.
Faye Ross, a radiant prom-goer, shared her pre-prom jitters: “This morning I woke up with a lot of nerves, and had to find something to do around the house to calm those.
“As soon as I started getting ready, they all dropped. I was speaking with friends, I met them here, and it was lovely to see them and now have some fun. I think the entrance was brilliant, I arrived a bit earlier and it was so fun to watch everyone coming in. It wraps up five years of being at Cullompton and puts a nice big ribbon on it.”
The evening was particularly poignant for Finlay Woodfield, who reflected on the journey leading up to this night: “We’ve been through a lot in the last five years, we missed out on a lot through three years of Covid. It’s great to be here tonight, especially now we’ve finished our exams and are able to relax a bit and have a reward. I know it’s a big motivator for lots of people knowing this is at the end of their studies. Clearly, people have put in a lot of work, it’s been brilliant to see.”
Harrison Clayton, head of year eleven, spoke about the significance of the evening adding: “It means a lot to staff and pupils. These students have had a lot of disruption throughout their education and a lot of challenges to face and I’m glad we can finish this on a high note, in glorious weather and say goodbye in a proper and fun way. I thought their entrances were amazing. A lot of creativity went into it.”
