I’m what could be considered a ‘regular’ on Worlds and I can confirm Nexialist is just a chill dude who just occasionally messes with new players because let’s be real, there isn’t that much to do on worlds besides chat and explore these days.

Imagine looking back on VR chat in the next 20 years and realising there were cults in there as well

I'm almost 50 and remember Worlds very well. My GF & myself became a little obsessed with the game. It was the first time I had experienced VR chat & I was blown away at the potential. In those days you needed a lot of imagination to have fun, but many took it really seriously. We joined a group who all had elf Avatars and would surround unsuspecting people and do 'crazy elf stuff'. I was the official Elf Ambassador in charge of recruiting new people to our 'cause'. I remember attending an 'Elf wedding ' in outer space between a Nurse from the UK and an interior designer from NYC. They had fallen in love and wanted to get married in the game. My GF took it so seriously I remember her dressing up just to sit in front of the computer to attend the wedding. Great memories, amazing people....and so much fun .....not to mention all the drama!!

Its weird how some dead game may have a small patch of players that are still active, think if vr chat 30 years later becomes a small home for a cult

My ex introduced me to Worlds over 10 years ago and for a few weeks we explored hundreds of worlds together. There was a weekly ingame quiz that you could partake in and if you won you'd get a month of gold (premium) subscription. I got the gold sub and yeah Nexialist was there back then. I remember he usually hung around the lobby, tho on at least one occasion he'd follow me and my ex around. You'd turn around and you'd see that horse face just staring. He never talked about a cult tho, although this predates the whole 4chan thing where newbies flooded Worlds. It was pretty magical. Worlds with walls of gifs, music, sunsets and intrigue.

It’s a tradition for me to watch this at least once a month.

Back in 2012 I myself stepped into Worlds after watching a streamer experience with the MMO being a tripy nightmare while also being a extremely fascinating. I played for about a week with the first few days being pretty normal, meet a few guy and danced around in games bathroom. Most of the people I meet then where like me, visitors or tourist. By the third day I would meet this one guy who I guess most of been Nexialist since he had a simlair avatar but I'm not sure if that was what his username was (reminder this was 8 years ago) and he would show me very strange places and sometimes say things like "I don't know who made this" or "People used to come here". The only reason I don't think it was that Nexialist guy is that I theorize there were people from 4chan trolling as him and acting out stuff, though since he didn't really say much to me or show me any cult stuff other than a weird church I was, and still am, not sure if it was or wasn't him. That being said Worlds is once in a lifetime experience. There isn't many places on the internet like it anymore and exploring it is truly something else.

I don't think the voice modulator is necessarily bad, perhaps more "overused". It's the kind of thing that works better when used sparingly, for certain occasions or even just to keep viewers on their toes. But having it on all the time can be distracting. I do appreciate that you're trying something new though, and aren't afraid to give new things a try in general. It's something I really like about you as a creator.

Honestly hearing about world’s decline is incredibly sad to me and i dunno why. Especially thinking about how the server for sick children sits abandoned now. It’s particularly sad because most of that player base is _actually_ dead.

I remember checking out this game many years ago. Never spoke to Nexialist but I saw him floating above the main hub a few times. Some other players, who had creepy avatars in their own right, greeted me in the starting area and gave me a tour of some of their favorite worlds including ones they were still creating. Most were horror related (at least, once you dug deeper into the seemingly innocent levels) and had secrets scattered throughout. I get the feeling they were trying to bring me into their fold, as it was a pretty empty and lonely game even then. There is a lot they had shown me that wasn't covered in this video, but I think some things are best kept a mystery. There's a lot of fun in exploring the game for yourself, and I can only imagine what else those strange players have created since.
