I heard from the grapevine that part of Sting's reasoning for choosing the Bucks as his last opponents was that he thought it would annoy "Hollywood" Jack the Jobber, thus being Sting's way at getting back at him for still refusing to take his laptop on a date to the Italian restaurant!

The thing about riddle saying that he was told he was going to win the rumble makes sense from the point of view that there is a history of people being told "you're going to win this match" until the last minute. Ali is a perfect example with the briefcase.
