When I order it is never crispy from Culver' s. Red. lobster has a lunch fish sand with a side for 9.99. It is 2X larger. Also comes with cheddar bay biscuits.
4 out of 5. 👍 It's funny what you said about the cheese. I've seen many other reviews of fish sandwiches from other places and it's a consensus. Everyone says the cheese is not necessary and you just don't need it. I agree. But this looks really good. I wish there was a Culver's near me. I like cod. Great review! 👍
I know it seems kind of stupid eating fish, but I prefer fish without a strong fishy taste. Sort of like Whitefish, or like most fish fries here with beer-battered filets. My grandpa used to flour and pan-fry Bluegill and Crape' which I really liked. To me the Filet O'Fish doesn't taste fishy at all and is my favorite of the fish sandwiches at most fast-food places. This one sounds good for my tastes and I'll give it a try. I really like the Walleye sandwich. It is a stronger fish taste but Culver's actually does a good job with the batter that I don't find it too fishy. Thank you Kevin.
Kevin, their Cod sandwich is good but you HAVE to go back and try the walleye sandwich! It is hands down the best fish sandwich in fast food. In fact it is as good as a lot of sit down restaurants. I hope to see you review it in the near future. Take care!
That "fishy" taste is actually from the enzymes and bacteria that combine after the fish is killed that over time produces a chemical compound called trimethylamine or TMA. The longer after the fish dies, the more TMA and so the stronger that fishy taste and smell.
By coincidence, the same day, I went to a Culver's way on the other side of town with some friends. I had the butter burger double.It was excellent and I even liked their crinkle fries. I saw the cod, but planned to have a fish sandwich today (Friday). Arby's crispy fish (2 for $6 right now) is WAY better than McD FiletOFish.
Never had culver's fish, i literally live right across the street from them. But, as someone who lives in wisconsin, I would much rather have walleye over Cod. Walleye literally does not taste like fish. Fresh walleye is ever better. Try the walleye next time, you won't be disappointed.
I came here to say that. I'm also in Wisconsin. As you know, the walleye is only available during Lent, and all of our local Culver's are already out of it.😮💨
I just bought one and it doesn't look anything like what you you presented. Fish size was thin as a pancake and filet was maybe 2/3 the size of the bun..and I paid $7.49..wow never again
For me, I loved the Wendy's fish sandwich. The one they had a few years ago. It was actually Cod. It was the best I've ever had. Even over the one that they have now and even more than McDonald's which I love too. To be fair I haven't had Popeye's and several others either though.
McDonald's is probably the best when you consider all aspects. Wendys has a decent fish sandwich, but not crazy about the pickles and lettuce they add.
Had the cod sandwich (bought 2) - NEVER again!! The fish was "way" smaller than the bun itself- plus so little cheese that I couldn't even taste the cheese. WAY rip-off for the price!!!!
