There’s a park that has a trail that goes for miles in a city called Lynchburg Virginia. The park is called the Blackwater Creek Trail. The park use to be a railway years ago. At one point there are falls. And another part the trail goes through a tunnel. You might be able to see videos of it on RU-vid. It would help if you typed Blackwater Creek trail tunnel in Lynchburg, Va.

@@post.10 That's why whenever I think it's cold, I look at weather conditions on top of Mount Washington, NH. I forget about my cold 53F and when I see temperatures -20F with winds of 95 mph, sustained, I feel so blessed! I'd move back to New England, but I use a power wheelchair and can't imagine getting out and about with snow covered sidewalks & streets. Keep up the good work! The unclogged drain may in fact save someone's life & property!
The weirdos saying you're trespassing or telling you that you're doing something wrong, (in my opinion) are a result of you highlighting failings in the system... I've noticed is a lot of people who blindly support and enable everything government while ignoring the failures in the system that we fund to work for us. The Uk is only warmer because we get bathed in warm currents thats come up from the seas around the caribean and central america. Look on a globe. You will see that the uk is level with Nova Scotia and Moscow. I think if you google ‘the gulf stream’ or Atlantic Conveyor, you might get better info. Without that we would all be freezing to death in this country. Its is partly why historically such a small island became so powerful :- Geographical luck. Climate change may actually make us colder! Or warm and Wetter. Too early to tell.

Before you go into a culvert or any hidden place, I hope you use your phone to check in with someone - and then check in again when you're back to your car and safe.
You should take the hike up the trail to the 2 big waterfalls. It's about a 20 min hike but well worth it. I live on that mountain and have been there many times and not that many people know about it.
You should take a small backpack with you Post and keep your waders in that, saves you having to go back to the car to change, it`ll give you more daylight time to explore. Ecellent video too by the way.
I hope when you go to these culverts you tell someone where you are going. We don’t want to have to send Adventures With Purpose to find you! But really I find your videos relaxing and entertaining and I thank you for doing them . I could handle the cold but not spiders or snakes, bears or mountain lions .
Hey there, I think you should invest in a rope, with knotted hand hold along the way to assist you up and down those steep inclines. If you get thicker Amsteel rope it will last forever and is lightweight and water resistant (doesn’t absorb water). Amsteel rope is great to splice, allowing you to create loops in it or attach loops though it. It also doesn’t stretch and has high weight holding abilities.

Comparing the old photographs with the video of the train tunnel really shows how much time can change environments. It's looked completely different back then compared to now. The forest wasn't even there. How old are the photographs?
The tunnel was reduced to one track since normal cars were getting too tall. Currently the tunnel cannot accept double stacks. Mass DOT has wanted to raise the tunnel for years, but no one wants to pay for it. They did some work in the early 2000's to raise the height, but they didn't do too much because debris kept falling down.
So, you drive way out in the countryside, park, and wander a mile or 2 into the woods by yourself just before dark, slide down under a bridge and almost wind up in a fully gushing icy winter river, bring 1 light & a cell phone (is it waterproof and drop proof?) just in case you get a signal if needed, go a hundred feet or more into a culvert with rushing water, ice, a crumbling ceiling and no cell signal... and you get scared by a possible bat hanging out? I don't see how they can find you in time if you get hurt or slip under some ice. I would suggest to have someone with you on these kind of adventures. Ice with swift water under it is no joke if you slip. I hope you at least give someone a detailed map of where you are going and always carry a waterproof phone attached to you. I worry about you sometimes. Please be careful.

Good info. If you are not already wearing a back support I highly recommend one all the time u r bending. As I travel along in time I now realize how much I should have. Have you ever looked around the area to see if you can find where the large amount of water that disappears into the wall comes out again?? it seems like that large amount of water should daylight again from the hill somewhere.
