Cummins Falls permit hike during pandemic. 3 mile hike through the forest and the creek with several crossings was a blast with final swim under the falls. Cummins Falls is a waterfall on the Blackburn Fork River and is located in southern Jackson County, Tennessee. By volume, it is the eighth largest waterfall in Tennessee. The falls, with a total height of seventy-five feet, consist of two drops. The first has a plunge drop of fifty feet, ending in a shallow pool.

I never been hiking before is there a path to follow so people don't get lost?

Down to the river there is a path in the forest. Really easy. Then there is some path by the river and some river crossings. Proper shoes required. You can't miss the waterfall. River crossings are not dangerous unless flushflood warning is in effect. Everything is monitored by rangers. Also at the falls rangers are present to maintain the crowd and give some advice. Really pretty site. Worth an effort 👌
