Having just gotten off of my second crossing, I am a Cunard junkie now. I'll never fly across the ocean again if I can help but....QM2 is so comfortable, you get to meet so many interesting people and the food is good. Flying you have to deal with the greedy airline industry, an uncomfortable plastic seat, processed food, the headache of airports, and jet lag!
Some dishes looked decidedly inferior to others; I've cooked professionally off-and-on since 1993, and some of that I simply wouldn't touch. The German and most of the Indian dishes looked delicious, though.
Wow! For a night owl, if I'm on holiday, why eat dinner when all of this late-night good food is available?! These offerings are far more than just some snack foods!
Yes its elevator music but I quite like it. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and thats to chill you the hell out. It would perform the same function for me as those rain storm sound videos that help you sleep. Some music is meant to excite, some is meant to evoke feelings like love or even rebellion but some, like this, is meant for deep chilling and relaxation. Nice choice for the video!
It's always kind of tough to pick the background music, especially if you don't want to have the same one in all the videos, so thank you for the comment! 😊
@@TravelTouristVideosClub music I would call it. And if anyone wants different music they can just blank the sound on this video, open another window, start up any music they want, like "The Wreck of Old 97," "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald," "The Ballad of Henry Martin," "The Ship that Never Returned," or anything else they want.
Your vlogs are very entertaining and educational. I have really enjoyed watching them, and I think y'all are doing a great service to the Cruise line industry. I bet they will take notice.
Well, I've been meaning to book a westward transatlantic cruise on the QM2 for some time; I had hoped to do it this year, but have come to the realization that I'll have to wait until next year, 2023...maybe around late May-early June? All I can say is that videos like these make me, compel me to hurry up and get 'er done!
Wow, looks fantastic. I would not eat after 12.00hrs, and be first in line for the buffet every night, need to try at least ninety five percent of these dishes. On holiday, (very expensive one), it's only for a couple of weeks so enjoy, or have a drink of horlicks and let us foodies have a culinary blast. Eat late sleep late, run around the deck later.
Shame on you all. People starving everywhere. Foodbanks everywhere. Cost of living crisis....and here we have gluttony on an industrial scale. It is obscene!
I retired, unwillingly, 3 years ago. It ain't all it's cracked up to be. But since it is what it is, my kids are already making more money that we did, the house is ours, no car loans, the police aren't after me, we decided to spend the kid's inheritance. Cruising isn't for everyone, we have friends who absolutely hate it. Get on the wrong cruise, I promise, you will hate it (so do homework and work with a travel agent, at least in the beginning). But whatever, do NOT wait. Tomorrow is not promised or even guaranteed. As my wife says, a little jet lag, she sleeps late in the morning, they feed her, she goes to the spa or pool, they feed her again AND wash the dishes, they make the bed, you see a show, they feed you again and clean up. And sometimes go somewhere new. Do it while you can!
The midnight buffet on cunard is, quite simply, exceptional. Worth missing the evening meal for in fact. Ideal if you are to see a show and do not wish to hurry an evening meal. Other cruise lines offer this but, not to this standard of course, more of a "chum bucket" than fine dining.

@@fritzhenning1 not at all. I work hard, do not waste my money on bling, tattoos, alcohol or drugs and expensive tv packages. My money , my choice. I enjoy a couple of cruises each year, why shouldn't I.
@@fritzhenning1 food is wasted everywhere. Yes, food is wasted on cruise ships but, ITV's unavoidable. I expect to cruise, in style, and have whatever, and whenever I want, food. Are you not overlooking that hotels, restaurants all have surplus food.
OMG, David. Great video. I love that moonlit sea shot between the different nights. Magical. Excellent music bed as always. Almost all that food looked incredible. Ironically we had KC-Style ribs tonight. Not sure I’d be able to do a late night buffet after presumably eating way too much on most of the sea days. I noticed the lovely and charismatic Joanna is not on this one. Did you escape captivity or were you allowed a work furlough. (I’m in trouble if my fiancée sees this!) 🙂
Lol yeah Joann did make a little cameo at the 27 second mark, but we were there just to look & take photos- still full from dinner. KC style ribs- yum! Thank you so much for the comment Brad! 😊

I've always wanted to take a cruise such as this QE2 one. It's just food and so much of it continuously is a big part of the cruise. Being a Diabetic on Insulin for decades, being around constant food would not make for an enjoyable trip for me. A temptation of that magnitude with all that great food. I wouldn't trust myself. I have to say the variety of food they provide is excellent.
Yes all those food are tough to resist for sure. Cunard did have some food labeled "low sugar", but you can always make requests too before the cruise and they'll try to accommodate your dietary needs. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
WOW having seen the snack food I think were I to be on a cruise like that I would have to be rolled down the gankplank when it ended, I would be too fat to move! It all looks wonderful
would have liked some breakfast food at night like pancakes, french toast, waffles and bacon- maybe a breakfast sandwich of eggs cheese and bacon or sausage on a biscuit
It all looks delicious, but I fear there will be a lot of food left over, since not all guests will want late night snacks. I can only hope that the crew can freely enjoy the leftovers as a perk for working at Cunard. If I could afford it, I would book a cruise just for the food, especially the breakfast buffet, which is simply amazing.
The only way I would be able to eat anything would be to have an early dinner In the dining room. Even then, I would only get a cookie and just look Greedily around
Oh, heavens! Showing me this is cruel. I gain enough weight on a double transatlantic as it is. If I hit the King's Court at midnight, I'll have to do 12 laps around the promenade deck before I go to bed. 😜
I doubt I'd be walking far Day 5 after the German specialities. And the paella. I don't think I've eaten 2000 calories after midnight before, but there's a first time for everything.
LOL "Los Angeles Dogs" Here in Los Angeles we call them "Dirty Dogs" or "Street Dogs". They are usually found being cooked on cookie sheets over Sterno by street vendors outside bars and clubs.
Looks like a nice dinner buffet! The German food looks so good. Glad they also had some lighter, healthy, options, too. On the other hand you are on vacation so enjoy. How was the pizza?
It was an excellent late night buffet for sure! The pizza looked good, but didn't get to try it as we were still very full from dinner. Thanks for the comment as always! 😊
and now i,m starving, is this buffet well signposted,if this is doggy friendly i would be tempted to take a doggy bag to my little girl??!!!! hope the sandwiches come in wholemeal bread as well.
Would like some breakfast foods after midnight. Going to sleep on scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes is very satisfying - and then sleeping in and waking up into for lunch is my idea of a good vacation. Where's the eggs? want some eggs.
We've done multiple transatlantics with Azamara, alas no midnight buffets. Not that it is possible to go hungry with Azamara, that simply is not possible. However, the offerings on German night looked spectacular. Just looking, I was getting squeezing chest pain, with a smile on my face. Glad you had a great time!
I will never, never understand why people who need 2.200 kalories a day, need 10.000 a day to feel comfortable on a ship. Everything is paid and must be eaten??
Smoked salmon on a bagel FTW! Some of those other sandwiches and cakes will be in my stateroom for later too LOL! Thank you for a look at the late night buffet! 👍
A lot of variety but frankly it all appeared to be of pretty mediocre quality. Not at all what I would expect from Cunard. Based on this video, I would pass on Cunard, really disappointing!
very ordinary family style food .... casseroles and salads and lasagna and pizza .... a few bits of fish and hamburger here and there .... nothing wrong with it ....i would have suggested they reduce the selection to about 6 items total and keep the quantities to no more than needed.... i'm guessing 2/3 of these big buffets gets tossed overboard
We also take a photo of the labels, but occasionally things are mislabeled or not labeled, and we'd have to make an educated guess. But 98% or so are named according to how Cunard labeled each item.
i would much rather travel on this for a week than go on a plane if a plane crash's into the middle of the ocean everybody on board will die atleast with a ship and a good crew you have a chance to fight to surivie
