This Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic 8 night cruise on June 15th 2024 was our first transatlantic and it had direct transfer to our Queen Anne Norway cruise. We enjoyed this QM2 cruise which allowed us to board Queen Anne with no jet lag.
The ocean was silky smooth all the way. Our previous QM2 cruise was in 2015, but everything beautiful then hardly changed now.
We found that the passengers on this transtlantic QM2 were a special bunch that were ready to dance and always with a smile. Many were doing round trip transatlantic and were there with a focus on ballroom dancing. Recorded music started at 6 pm each evening, again 7 pm, then the orchestra trio at 7:45 pm and the Queens Room Musician band started at 8:45 pm. Dancing continued to late. Every song was good for dancing.
This translantic had the special treat of the London Theater company providing lots of entertainmant and enrichment programs. Hence the Olivier Awards were celebrated throughout this cruise. Quite an experience.

That must have been a wonderful cruise and everything looks so elegant. I really enjoyed watching.

Spoiling us with two so quickly! Sometimes folk ask if they as novices or non dancers will annoy others and get in their way. There was a couple there that prove that idea is nonsense. I suspect that one of them had mobility issues, but I noted that all the dancers managed to negotiate a path avoiding them even when they were going against the line of dance.

We observed that almost all dancers on the Queens Room floor were polite and made space for each other. Once, however, on a QE Baltic cruise, I observed that a male dancer, in his road rage, executed a medium power wrist-twist punch on the back of another unsuspecting male dancer. The latter was shocked but did not stop to voice his objection. The line-of-dance moved on and the offender got away with it.
