What a gorgeous ship. I'm in my early thirties and would absolutely appreciate sailing on her. No need to add entertainment geared towards younger folks. With today's crazy fast pace world it would be an absolute pleasure to just sit back with a coffee, and write a book in that environment.

This is one of the few best looking ships in the 21st century, unlike the common grotesque cruise ships that's floating around (like floating kids' playground). Well thought out elegant designs, old world charm, with a library. And best of all, you can dress up in your evening formal black or white tie!

I agree Jason !! Incredibly beautiful classy ship !! The Cunard’s are ALL Beautiful and Elegant ships I agree with your assessment of the new MEGA CRUISE SHIPS!! They are UGLY!! Fat top heavy square blocked apartment buildings. And then to add insult to injury, they plop a amusement park on top ?!?! So sad . So top heavy. Can we say “ Poseidon Adventure “ boys and girls?

I found it was quite impressive & quite stunning, it made me feel I was on the Titanic with a modern twist. 😊 My first cruise on the Queen Elizabeth was from Melbourne to New Zealand return was a Christmas cruise in 2019/2020 it was the highlight of my life & thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabin was quite spacious & staff very friendly & helpful. Best time to buy the overprice stuff is near the end of the cruise when they drop the prices quite considerably (Having their sales) I disagree that Queen Elizabeth provided more for the older folk. They did provide for the children & teenagers. They had a disco up on one of the top decks for teenagers & teenagers at heart, also they provided activities for both children & teenagers throughout the day. Queen Elizabeth provided for all ages from what I saw. The ship had a mixture of both young & those in their Autumn years. Thanks for sharing too & really enjoyed your commentary as well.

Thanks ever so much for sharing your experience - really glad you had a great time. Queen Elizabeth is a stunning ship, and you're right; it does feel as though you're stepping back in time, but there are contemporary twists which make her feel quite modern. Very jealous that you did New Zealand and Australia. Both countries feature highly on our bucket lists :)

Thanks for your kind comments. It is disappointing that they are only selling 2 hour slots to use the hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite; they used to sell daily packages and a cruise package - I paid $220 on QV in 2016 for a couple, for a week's cruise. Hopefully when the world sees sense, they'll reinstate the old packages; two hours in that spa isn't enough!

We have just had our fourth cruise on this splendid ship. Three were to Alaska from Vancouver. The first one was in 2013 to the Norwegian fjords. We have travelled in all "classes" on this ship except Britannia Club. We find the Royal Court Theatre, the grand lobby, library and Commodore Club to be superior than the equivalent on the Queen Mary 2. The Grills facilities are, in our opinion, superior to those on the QM2 with the exception of the Princess Grill staterooms. On the QM2 they are square with a wide balcony, but on the QE they are long, thin and have a tiny balcony. The layout of the Queens Grill suite we had this year was so much nicer than the equivalent on the QM2. We were pleased that a harpist has returned this year. On last year's Alaska cruise there was an amplified saxophone at the Queen's Room tea a couple of times. Conversation was almost impossible. I don't know if I can agree that the entertainment is geared for older people. Most of the evening shows in the Royal Court Theatre feature loud pop-rock music. There was a rock and roll band on one night. I gave almost all of them all a miss (after standing at the back for a few minutes to be convinced this is not for me) but there was an excellent production of Top Hat. We can hardly wait to be back on board the QE or the Queen Victoria. We have not written off the QM2 though. Our next voyage is a westbound Atlantic crossing in a Britannia sheltered balcony cabin. From New York we will continue on to Québec on another week's voyage.

@@sailawaymag Yes, I sailed her from San Francisco to Sydney Australia. It stopped in Oahu, American Samoa, Fiji, 3 places in New Zealand including Auckland, and in Melbourne prior to disembarking in Sydney. Took most of the month of February 2012, but it was wonderful. Lots of sea days, but lectures and movies, etc. filled our days. We had some rough sailing on the Tasmanian sea, but this ship, unlike the popular cruisers, could handle it. Wish I was still able to travel but my mid-70’s have been difficult. Great memories on her, the Queen Victoria, the historic QE2, and the QM2.

Love the video. In two days, I’ll be on it for 39 days from Vancouver to Barcelona. You mentioned that it didn’t have many activities for young people and I think that’s a good thing because the ship is designed for people that don’t want to be around young people or children, which is the vast majority of cruisers. I’ve been more than 3400 days on cruise ships and my biggest complaint is children because it just doesn’t seem that any of the parents that bring their kids on have any quality to them I just got off the Princess which I was on for seven weeks and I’ve never seen more Third World people and extremely terrible children running and screaming at two or 3 o’clock in the morning. It was so bad I told the captain that I was going to call the highway patrol for Alaska. If he didn’t get them under order at which point, he told me he had more than 40 complaints written Against the children from the passengers and said that his hands were tied because Princess wouldn’t allow him to put them off in a port, which I told him I’ll happily call the police for you because their behavior was criminal This is one reason why people like Cunard lol. 😅
