If only Cung Le faught in MMA at a younger age, he would have been a force to be reckoned with. He was already in the twilight of his fighting career when he joined Strikeforce then later on UFC
@@bshasnki100 yeah, but they're also friends in real life. I'm sure Bisping's age helped a lot too since he's about a few years younger. Cung Le would have been awesome in the PrideFC and early UFC days.
I first seen this guy on a regular in the K1 non cable local tv channel when I was 12 back in 92/93 and I was blown away by his takedowns and striking. It Was awesome seeing someone putting these moves to use in a real life situation. When the UFC first came around I wondered why I never seen him until much later in the game because he was so competitive and so confident. To me Cung Lee at least in the 90s was the perfect full contact mma fighter!
@JC_wonderland I watched almost every fight he had actually. Dude was a master at catching kicks and slamming people. He won a fight just by slamming a guy repeatedly. You should definitely look at his highlights.
@@JC_wonderlandHe was 34 years old when he made his MMA debut. He was a champion at Strikeforce, and without a single doubt he would have been UFC champion as well
I wish he was in the ufc now and be in his prime I think no one in his division would be able to stop him. Don't get me wrong there are alot of amazing fighter in th e UFC
Because of cung le and other martial artist that come from a great striking background.. mma fighters are now starting to incorporate more kicks in their fights and traditional martial artist are crossing over to mma and coming out better.
In 2018 at the Arnold Classic I got to watch him spar and work mitts with his coach in the cage I was sitting right next to the cage and at the time I had no idea who he was, but I knew I recognized his face from some of his movies and watching this video I definitely remember him working that scissor sweep. Man if only I could go back and enjoy that moment even more and talk to him.
@@malagebideLe was born in Vietnam, trained in all styles of martial arts, settle with Sanda (Chinese kickboxing). His mother and father are viet not Chinese.
I only watched him in the ufc where he was old & very stiff, cool to see he was a machine in his prime, can't believe he makes that scissor sweep work so often.
Damn. Didn’t know what a stud he was and that he was around so long before UFC and Strikeforce. Man could wrestle like a savage too. Those throws would be devastating on hard ground.
Cung Lee is 2 event martial art using technique sanshou Chinese kungfu and vovinam martial art and the master kungfu . But now in UFC former champion his is great lagend also.... respected cung Lee... Kardom.🙏 kur eh wang....
@@michaeldietz2648 the kick he uses is a kick from sanshou/sanda. sanda is from Bajiquan. and you read the history of Taekwondo comes from okinawa karate and everything is rooted from kung fu. and look at all the ways to bring down her opponent, that's all the slamming ways from Sanda who come from bajiquan
This guy was a monster but even as a young man he didn't have a ground game. Was it his fault not, really he was a kickboxer. No one was or is more entertaining than Mr. Le. It's amazing what these warriors do nowadays, and the energy they exert while grappling is a testament to their athleticism. No one has to feel sorry for Mr. Le he made plenty of money doing movies. Now let's get back to the video.
Which he transitioned either by or before 2000 into mma, watched him in the 90’s sanshou tourneys and always thought this guy should go NHB at the time when it was called that before MMA
Cung le was undefeated at kickboxing. He started mma pretty late past his prime. He was so fast in those sanda days. Also he was asian and obviously knows kung fu, he deserves the name the flying dragon or something. The technician just sounds lame
