Cuphead - Secret Boss Fights (Hidden Boss Phases)

So basically spare the onion, make sure the genie scans the plane when your tiny, and kill the husband in the first phase. Got it.

*When you try to go pacifist mode but you end up killing somebody's husband*

That last one is kinda dark like, think about it. You killed her husband an then the background in the second phase changes, there is no baby throwing bottles as regular because the husband is dead and so they didn't have a son :o

Mugman: Look cuphead, I am not hurting anyone, we can get out safer if we didn't hurt the- *crushes husband with chandelier*......Oh god, am I the bad guy?

So for the first two, they just add a little obstacle/minion to help the bigger boss. And the second one is an alternative path.

What's really crazy is, if you let Cuphead live in the fight against Djimmi, you can take Djimmi down even faster, considering every other shot Cuphead fires is pink! So you could get off your best Super every 10-15 seconds! It's insane.

There should be more paths for different bosses! I think the bosses that would get them would be Wally Warbles: Destroying all of the eggs around Wally Warbles’s kid would make The kid sad and pull out a robot version of himself and attack you with it in the final phase. Beppi the Clown: Parrying the nose on the Roller Coaster enough times would break the ride and make Beppi get angry and run over to the Ferris wheel (giving you a small platforming section). the final phase would be beppi attacking you by hiding in the carts of the Ferris wheel (alongside some penguins), and by throwing darts at you in a pattern similar to spread (maybe sometimes throwing one big dart that homes in on you?). Ribby and croaks: Targeting Croaks ( the tall one ) in the 2nd phase would make him run away Making ribby sad, but then ribby would get enveloped by black smoke and become Shadow Ribby (obviously referencing Shadow Ryu), Which then becomes the final phase (he’d use souped-up versions of his previous attacks) Dr. Khal: Destroying the torso in the first phase and waiting 1 minute would make the robot Fall and turn the Shmup back into a run & gun. It’d still have the base concepts of the Shmup phases (escape pod and Clowncar ripoff), but do different things with the concept ( Escape pod sometimes slamming into the center of the ground making shockwaves and flying into mounds of trash tossing the trash at you, And Clowncar Rippoff gating the sides in electricity and Throwing mini Robot heads on the ground and spinning around an electrified wrecking ball while moving across the screen).

The husband doesn’t actually die because sally brushes it off as soon as the curtains close. Also I doubt they would connect an actual chandelier to two props. The husband still appears in the good ending, too. But, you can have your opinions. A little post-making-this-comment edit, I did not mean for the last line to sound rude.

So, Sally Stageplay's alternate path: Out of morbid curiosity, I looked up who St. Timothy was in the belief that it might be some grim allusion to how she lost her lover and the convent she joined being named after the saint of lost love or something poetic like that. Saint Timothy is a real saint, it's just that he's the patron saint of... Stomach ailments.

How to take Secret boss phase in here (spoiler alert) The Root Pack : Don't attack the Onion for about 5 second (Spere him) Djimmi The Great : Keep Shrinked while Djimmi guessing for puppet (whole time. if you get bigger once in there. you failed) Sally Stageplay : The engels on each side can be stood on with parry. Stand on and make them get lower (and yeah, you'll kill gentleman on back...)

Just look at the things we missed. If only we’d just stopped pressing the shoot button for a moment.

I wonder if these alternate phases are faster for speedruns, that would make a very interesting distinction between versions 1.1 and 1.2 (for the 1.1+ category)

There should be more secret phases like: -Cagney:shooting the body instead of the head makes him roll on the stage a lot of times. -goopy:when he is a gravestone,wait a lot of time and he will be tired. -Wally:destroy a ton of eggs and the baby won’t come and you will skip the phase but at the last one,Wally will be M A D! -Hilda berg:when she becomes the twin constellation,shoot one of the twins only.She will then change her 3rd phase to attack with all of her transformations. -Ribby and croaks:attack the fat one only.The other one will be mad and he will attack you nonstop. -honey bottoms:spare the guard for a ton of time and the queen will be mad. -dr kahl:wait a lot of time on the final phase and he will run out of ammo,which will suck for him. -Cala Maria:attack the eels before they bite her and she will attack you with much more strength but no medusa crap. -the boat:destroy the barrel by attacking it and then the pirate will use his booty(not his butt,his treasure)to use gold and stuff to attack you. -Werner werman:shoot the cat whenever he shows up during Werner werman’s 2nd phase.Werner will be M A D so he will be harder. -the clown:shoot the horse and he will fall to the train track and he will be P I S S E D. -baroness von bon bon:shoot the castle during the mini bosses and it will be destroyed.Bon bon will then attack you herself. -grim matchstick:attack the fire bois in the second phase and survive a lot and then he will be tired,skip the phase to his 3rd and attack you with bigger fireballs and a bigger flamethrower hitbox -phantom express:during the eye ghost,push the cart to the right,wait a ton of time and it will be ready for a party,do that and you will go to the final phase.The ghost will attack you while you try to defeat the train itself. King dice:get a TON of start overs until the king gets BORED and he will skip the roulette and attack you himself with longer card rows. The devil:before his skeleton goes down,do your milk super and hope you hit the skeleton before he enters the hole.The devil then will move to his final phase and he will cry and pull out the giant bois and the parry bombs which will no longer be parryable.

I didn't know you can spare Onion... That's a pretty neat touch, ngl. I might consider buying Cuphead eventually.

The betty beat knockout was brutal Mini cuphead was a resemblance of his bro and no mercy did he. I forgot her name but the first parr was sad. Then she cries cuase she has a broken heart. Mugman. "MUG"man. The other god....hes lazy. The baby does the work. OMG the priests came back to mock her. The end. A friendly cuphead story folks!

the fact that the husband doesn't show at the end really shows how they just cleared the body so that the 2nd phase could come and they just threw him out...

fun fact: on the other platforms for this game, (PC, Xbox, etc.) the enemy that appears in the 3rd phase of the root pack went unused.

I like how the last one is a reference for FFVI even with the alternate part of the dead husband

When your playing with 2 players,you can skip the phase with the big doll:player 2 leaves,and when the boss is thinking,player 2 comes back

So while ago, I beat the root pack one. Then I found the Genie secret on complete accident and had no idea what I did until I saw the question mark after dying
