It shares the same platform as the Ateca I have a Cupra 310 it's a very reliable crossover highly recommend one to anyone who is considering getting one
I have this car in the VZ2 310 bhp version, yes it is very good but there's that infotainment system that's full of bugs and does some weird stuff like not letting you enter the car, or it can make random phone calls to even slamming the brakes on for no apparent reason whatsoever as just a few examples. VW know about this problem as it's a similar problem across their range of cars fitted with this infotainment system but the Formentor has many electrical niggles that need sorting, what are VW doing about it? Very little.
Sorry to hear you are having such trouble with yours. Had mine for 2 months and apart from one time I had to reset the infotainment system (tracked that back to wireless Apple CarPlay, a known trouble maker) it has been flawless. I could do with some backlights on the temperature controls but otherwise I love everything about it.
My 2007 CRV had similar kid lock, also my previous 2012 Q3, Golf V, 2018 Polo and I guess most if not all cars. Also the rear defuser is not only for looks in this car. Yes, this Cupra mode sound is awful, you cannot drive it like that more than 5 minutes it gets in your nerves but luckily in the Individual driving mode you can configure and have the Cupra engine performance and the Comfort or Sport sound. Truly it is an everyday car and also a sport car if you like and the road allows, suspension having 15 settings from soft to comfort to sport to Cupra only downside is the tire noise which gets in to the car if the road surface is not perfect.
I wouldn't call it a golf r on higher suspension, it's literally a t-roc r.. Cupra's marketing methods are a bit stupid as well, it's supposed to be a performance brand, yet they make slow none performance variants, why?
