im a sleight of hand magician and cardist. everyone KNOWS how cups and balls is done but this blew my mind. And yeah muggles won't be able to follow this lol. Great video!
As someone who sat across the table from The Professor himself as he performed this classic, I congratulate you on a clean and entertaining rendition. Well done.
The very best, most detailed and comprehensive tutorial on cups and balls I have ever seen. What an incredible explanation of each move. This is pure gold.
What an elaborate and carefully thought out and delivered video! I always loved your performances and tutorials as an amatuer person. my go- to tricks are the Follow the leader, the famous 10 card trick and many more. Now you are back, and this time with a fantastic, very visual performance and tutorial Spicing up my free time, dragging me to the mirror to practice. A great thank you Tom from Hungary!😍
I'm on vacation and get my hands to a set of cups. Vacations are over and now I know whats happening with those cups. They found their way into my luggage.🤩 I got them as a gift from the owns, cause I was the first visitor in his cottage wholearmed how to handle those cups. Thanks to your wonderful lecture
Truly grateful. Always a pleasure, and never a "gotcha". Sincere thanks to you for all your work. As a 72 year amateur magician, you have breathed life back into my amazement.
Hi Tom, we're painfully miss out on your fabulous illusions, careful and thorough tutorials, philosofical talks, all you have done with a twist and an unimitable air of elegance. 😢 Are ypu planning to upload something in the near future? I do hope so. Love from Hungary.❤
This was an excellant tutorial. An an amateur magician wo is still practicing my cups & balls, i loved seeing your personal style added to the trick. Very well done tutorial. Thank you
Wow oh wow, Half way through. It must have taken weeks or months to set this up, So many things to do without a mistake, It makes me appreciate this trick even more. Most people know how its done but just showing the complexity of the moves and order makes it much more impressive to me.
I am not a magician. I attend a lot of magic shows. I also try to figure out how the magic is performed, but it is never a spoiler for me, cos no matter how much you learn of how a magic is performed, you'll always be awed by a good magician. Even after watching how he performed the magic, I'm still awed everytime I watch the trick.
Fantastic, epic sequence of a great trick, spiced up with Tom's usual snappy and forceful presentation. I admire the cleanliness and coherence of his explanations. Not one single word or move superfluous here, as always. Keep it up Tom, love from Hungary. PS : I hanker for more illusions... more often.
Good wishes. Thank you so much for your presentation and tutorial of great classical cups and balls trick ever performed by great legend magician Die Vernon. The routine is very amazing. God bless you and save you .Do continue to help us by exposing the secrets of other magic tricks with proper routine and tutorials. We all enjoy with great enthusiasm. Yours sincerely, Suresh and family. Odisha. (INDIA)
As someone who personally heard from the professor's wife and son that he wouldn't pay a bill or support his family, just sat around the magic castle playing with his balls and cards, I congruously aggregate you!
I hope this profession never dies. As hard as I want to be amazed you tricks I don’t understand. I always picture these guys as extra disciplined warriors of entertainment. With their concentration level they could easily be tempted to do unethical things.
Thank you so so much for this video! helped me wonderfully. Question from anyone reading this...finding it difficult keeping the 2 or 3 balls balancing on top of the cups. Any suggestions for cup type and ball size? Looking on line and spare balls but not a great choice...thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Sir, Good evening. Thank you so much for your brilliant tutorial of great classical cups and balls trick. We are really speechless in watching this trick. Switching the 4th ball from hand to hand at around 3:50 is given away by the pinky. I don’t know if it is possible to préforme the switch without raising it. Also I wish I had half your skills.
Ok I'll say it. That's not where i keep my two big balls. Hahaha But seriously amazingly slick work. A question tho. I've seen this same basic trick done but the lemon or lime was bigger than the cup or appears to be not sure which. How is that done?
Yes but it forces others to up their game to make the illusion that much better and keeps it from being the same old burnt out routine that has been done for generations and generations. And if a magician never told their secrets the art would go to the grave with them and it would would die as well eventually if no one new ever learned these magnificent works of art. Someone has to teach us new comers to the art how to do it. Or is the object to sell the secrets and make hundreds and thousands from it? I can understand if that is a 1 off illusion that a person invented on their own time and money. Fair game then no harm no foul I say.
Is there a magic trick where all components are shown to the person at all times but because of informational overloading you are able to fool the person at the end?
What is the least amount of tricks a person has to understand in order to understand at least 90 percent of the logic covered in foundational sleight of hand magic?
This is a cool routine, and I saved it, but I didn’t know the video was over 25 minutes when I started it. You should just give me a real magic wand that’s gonna do the whole routine for me so I won’t have to do any slight of hand. On a serious note, if there’s a part that shows how to make large pieces of fruit or whatever appear, can you please tell the time in the video for that part?
So around 24:40, he starts moving the pocket watch. But the pocket watch remains perfectly still in the mirror..up to this point the mirror has accurately reflected what he's doing..in this case it lags. Anyone know how that one was done?
In the video he was discussing recording your routine in front of a mirror and watching your misdirection and errors and not adding misdirection at the wrong time or your audience will catch it. You actually caught it (his example I believe is what he was getting at in the edit), the watch not moving in the mirror until after he drug it across the table. I actually thought that was a pretty slick point to be made and how he did it if that is actually what happened right there.
Great Tutorial. I create process documentation as an occupation and "Magish" as a hobby, so this video spoke to me on both an entertaining and intellectual level. (I also have a magic YT Channel if you want to check it out)
