I just want to thank GOD for YOU!!!!! For your willingness to share your channel and your life and what has brought you to this point in life. It has helped me to understand some of what I have been going through. Thank you, love, and hug
Today marked my last day as an employee in the healthcare field, Been in healthcare for four years serving as a CNA at a nursing home. Paul, I always showed the residents your videos and they always enjoyed watching them. Some of them didnt grasp the concept of the snap tool but they enjoyed your prayers as well as your upbeat attitude as well as olivia.
Hi Paul, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel, it’s also brought me to other scrappers on RU-vid. I’m discovering something that I have never considered before in doing the work that all of you do, this really makes sense to me plus the financial benefit as well as even health benefit by being physically active. Thank you again.
Paul there's two sayings, one is "Getting old is not for wimps" and the other one is "Getting old is not for the faint of heart". Don't know which one you were trying to think of but I hear the first one more than the second one. I'm 60 so I say the first one more often.
There’s a donation bin for Veterans down the street from me, so I like any clothes to go to them. Interesting information about donations overseas. I had no idea. Makes me think of the 50th anniversary of the death of my childhood hero, Roberto Clemente. He went on that fateful trip because the donations weren’t reaching the people. They were taken by those who were taking advantage of the people in order to control them. We never know what becomes of our good intentions, especially in faraway places. Keep on helping out your community! Nice to see your subs going up!
I'm commenting on behalf of my father Who loves this channel. His name is Felix he 71yr. Young and no matter where we are on the road. He puts this channel. Thank you for your content.
I totally agree with you on the clothes donations and what happens with these clothes. It is horrible sometimes. That's why I say if it's gently worn or even really worn always take your clothes donation to a local church or a local charity or local homeless shelter it'll do much better that way. There are a growing number of actual people who recycle clothes that are ripped or torn or unusable in the United States and its getting bigger of an industry which is really cool because now we can keep these things out of the landfill and their recycled into other things. There's this one company that I'm really interested in that takes old clothes and they put it through a process and they actually make blankets for moving and storage which I think is a wonderful thing actually. And there's also a company that is growing here in Orlando that takes old clothes that are unwearable watching some real good and makes blankets for homeless people and things out of them. So there is a way to try to keep things out of the landfill and keep them away from these people who do nothing but destroy the planet in the name of recycling. Thank you for bringing this up it's a wonderful thing
Paul, thank you for the education on recycling clothing. People should check with local mission groups who sort and send only good clothes to our own people who have been devastated by storms, etc. or we have a local one who sends medical equipment and good clothing to their affiliate groups overseas. No reselling!, only reusing!
Paul Paul Paul!!!! Thanks for taking us along ! I appreciate you so much!!! Thanks for sharing this with us be you !!! Sometimes it helps to hear ! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Hi Paul, knock on metal, that's a nice idea. It does slide well with the snow in the cargo box. A very nice G-man. We can do nothing against old age, only accept it. Hans
Thank you for the information I see the commercials about all the water pollution over there. Hugs for the family and that wonderful girl and her family. Pets for Olivia. 🙂👍🙂💕
As much as it hurts them , where would they be without it 🤔 Disney ain't building in the East Congo They're next best option is mining or poaching in most cases. Unfortunately, it's Africa and Asia 🤷🏻
Hola Paul I enjoyed your video. Thank you for making me smile. I was feeling bummed out today and just want to say when the going gets tough💪 the tough get going you’re awesome😊. Have a wonderful weekend love and God bless.❤️💕♥️🙏🙏🙏👍✌️😇
Some thrift stores get things for free and then sell it for a hefty price. I wish there was a place we could donate and the people who are in need get it free.
? But the purpose for thriftshops is typically to raise money for a specific charitable purpose, the primary object is not to provide for cheap stuff. The objective can be to support cancerresearch, homelesshelters, animalrescue or what not. So if they recieve something nice, a piece of furniture or so, they can sell for $50 they should do so instead of doing it for $5, don't you think? While of course it may be tricky to set the exact right price, they wouldn't want the stuff to remain in the store for too long since regular customers may not be encouraged to buy anything if it's the same thing there week after week. You could donate at for instance Facebook marketplace, require taxstatements etc to decide who is in need and then probably pay for transport the ones in need perhaps can't afford?
That garbage man is cool and you make him and Michael smile all the time God bless you and all u know tell Michael I said hi and wish him well his smile and good Ness makes my day much love from Arizona
H&M here in Sweden took in used clothes that were unsellable for purpose of recycling the fabrics into new clothes. They took it per kg and the customers who brought it got a a voucher to use. Maybe they still do it, don't know since I put myself on a shop-stop since my warderobe is too much already.
Amen! Nice little scrap haul. Those end tables looked really nice. When I see a video it always makes my day. You and your family have a wonderful day 😊
Wow Paul been watching you now for a year or two I start watching for scrap I am on my 4th load now it’s fun to do I just Mayer it a little hobby. And I am from Ontario Canada keep up the good work
Hey Paul I've got a dryer challenge for you. It can be done at recyclers. Save the dryer for last and take the screws out to see how much money is in it. Do 5 to start, I bet you find cash
Hey great job on finding that piece of cardboard and putting it in the right place to recycle bed right next to their trashcan LOL. I find myself when I go dumpster-diving a lot of times finding cardboard in the regular dumpster where they have a cardboard recycling dumpster right next to it. So yes there's me throwing the cardboard into the recycle out of the LOL I just can't break the habit of wanting to save the planet. Also he's somewhere in your video I'm trying to get like all the scrappers to do this if you could say the term, get green get wild, I'm trying to get everyone just to say that that would be great if you could. God bless you keep up the great work my friend take care
I've heard of old clothing and shoes getting ground up to become the insulation layer under your cars carpet or into emergency disaster relief blankets .. also I rescued about 30lbs of kitchen utensils from a thrift store dumpster all stainless steel and left it for a homeless man to take to the scrap yard
Good day Paul I am 73, back when I went to school, I think pencils wer .05. Alot of money for parents Yea I saw tv show & it showed story about clothing. Big piles of clothing being burnt or whatever. Thanks
Great rant about 'recycling '! Happy to say in NYC, folks have banded together and created local buy nothing groups based on the neighborhood we live in.
I am watching your adventures from Croatia. I enjoy following your metal collecting. I'm waiting for someone to think of making a comic about you and your work and everyday life. You already have a few super powers. Lack of attention. You have music in you. you have a beautiful smart dog, who must have super powers. And of course your love for Jesus! Every character, like Michael, your girlfriend, your teenage children, and all your other contacts are profiled characters in your comic. it's like watching a comic book in sequels.
G'day buddy from the land down under! You've got a killer truck bro, your lift gate is mad! Keep up the great scrap hunting ! My 4 year old girl and I really enjoy your scrap cruises. May the scrap gods look down on you and direct you to scrap gold so you can load that killer truck. Is it possible to give a shout out to my little girl Rivah on your next video? That would make her day my friend ! God bless Paul
Paul, there's still an enormous pile of wood chips in Coos Bay. I believe they are the byproduct of logging. When the trees are cut down, there are a lot of chips and sawdust from it.
12:17 I'm from the Coos Bay area, so I know that "mountain" of wood chips. It must have been at least 7 acres. In the 50's, 60's and 70's, when I was living in the area, there used to be a large billboard at the entrance of Coos Bay that read "Welcome to Coos Bay. The largest lumber shipping port in the world!". Was the Modoc stationed there when you were there? It may have been decommissioned sometime after the 80's because I saw a different Coast Guard ship docked in it's place the last few times I was visiting family. I REALLY miss my old stomping grounds.
@@ScrapPalletMan I Couldn't help myself. I had to Google it. I copied one line: "Modoc was decommissioned on 31 May 1979 at Coast Guard Base Seattle and was placed on "Inactive, Out of Commission, In Reserve" status".
A lot of charity began as good intentions, but as the proverb goes: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." It pretty much means that no matter how good your intentions are, you need to look at the possible ramifications before you act.
I have a friend who would not support our local mission because she saw a bunch of good so-called trash in their dumpster area. Maybe it had fleas maybe it had bedbugs maybe it had been peed on who knows. She made a very rushed judgment and I thought well that’s OK I’m still going to support them
Your comment on the clothing recycling industry was right on Paul I have seen the pictures myself and it is true it ends up on the beaches illegal methods God bless take care
You used to go to a different scrapyard once in a while are they still open or do you just prefer this one? Great videos I just love seeing what you find Stay safe my friend
