+Shaun Feldman Right. I'm glad we had a meeting on this about a show about meetings. We need more meetings like this. Nice having a meeting with you. Lets have another meeting soon about having another meeting.
That’s the genius of Curb your Enthusiasm I think. For the most part Larry is a complete asshole, but in almost every situation he’s the one who’s correct. He just doesn’t get his points across diplomatically. He basically has no filter. He says what we all want to say, but can’t, won’t or are afraid to.
But Larry's issue is the reason they can't have the meeting. Jason has nothing to do with that. Jason could be a good friend and meet at Larry's office, but he's not exactly obligated.
You know people say, it's a show about nothing. I never understand that: It's a show about EVERYTHING! These things look funny and petty and hilarious from the outside but when you are in the midst of living them, it's a very real, passionate argument. Then when you look back on it; it's a ridiculous argument that you feel foolish about getting so worked up about but that is life. Looking back and being able to laugh about it makes life more fun and makes our weird specious a bit more bearable.
Maybe this or Seinfeld are said to be "about nothing" but that phrase really means "lacks the necessary elements to make a show work". But the doubters were wrong... the show(s) DID have the necessary elements to make a show work... so the original understanding of what makes a show work was WRONG. A show that shows a single ant crawling on a log for thirty minutes could be said to be "about nothing", but hypothetically if you craft it in a particular way it might work. The point is these shows aren't about nothing, its just that people in showbiz thought the show(s) were lacking necessary tried and true elements to make a show work, but they didn't know what they were talking about. The fact is our knowledge of story is limited... we're still learning.
One of the many things that makes curb and Seinfeld great is usually everything is on the surface, its like an egg shell never penetrating the yolk, or an m&m candy never breaching the chocolate, they probably will never create, build or accomplish tasks of any kind, only contemplate it all day and night, 👴😄👴😄👴😄
Yes and no, the real issue is that LD is not taking responsibility for screwing up this meeting, he's being childish. Simply driving there doesn't accomplish anything, if the meeting is cancelled because of you then you should come back
Jugdish He already was a successful actor on Seinfeld, considering he was making millions on the biggest show on television and everybody knew who he was. So, it was either going to be "Hey, it's George from Seinfeld!" or "Hey, it's that guy from that movie!" Which would you prefer?
IRL no one would be having this argument because people want to be polite and non confrontational especially in a professional setting. IRL they would both be offering to drive to the other one's office while being internally mad about it. No one IRL wants to admit they care about these petty little things, that's the beauty of Seinfeld and curb
Curb is full of terrible cuts and edits. They slice in voiceovers many times. Just off the top of my head in the scene where larry finds out his lawyer isn't Jewish, they added in the "She's going to get everything" line when Larry's back is turned. It's really obvious. Such a great show though :)
I'm not normally one to even notice bad editing and lack of continuity, but there's a really good (bad?) example in he minyan scene in the Buckner episode where it switches back and forth and it's really noticeable. Also, don't forget, in Seinfeld, all of Larry's dialogue as Steinbrenner was a voiceover lol
You know how to make the reservation...you don't know how to hold the reservation... The holding of the reservation is the most important part of the reservation
Just like going to a meeting but not actually having the meeting because you have an issue doesn't accomplish anything, so it's up to you to come back to have the meeting
In Star Trek TOS there was an episode where they discussed how if identical particles of matter and antimatter met, the entire universe would be destroyed. I think we can now safely say that this theory isn't true.
For everybody wondering, the reason it becomes night in just a lil talk is because Larry couldn't stop laughing and ruining takes, he says so in an interview.

That was a blessing in disguise--it makes it seem like Larry and Jason were actually arguing about having a meeting for hours on end (which makes it even funnier)!
"Theres something to do while your waiting.. Theres nothing to do while driving"!!! Larry has a point. Fuk that I wouldnt drive to Georges office again Fuk that. George hasnt driven yet. its his turn
@@Chrisbajs he's wrong very often. it's not Jason's fault that they can't have the meeting right there, so Larry should come back and apologies for wasting Jason's time, he didn't do it on purpose but it's his responsibility
Driving isn't the issue means that Larry didn't accomplish anything by just driving there and not having the meeting, just like taking a reservation and not holding it doesn't accomplish anything. Jason had nothing to do with Larry's problem and his time was wasted, why should he drive to Larry's office on top of that?
