I gotta say the option to have a robotic or "humanoid" Curie is one of the most "fallout" things in all of Fo4

Marie Curie, the woman who discovered Radiation, the first woman to win a Nobel prize and the first person to win two Nobel prizes, the perfect physicist for the fallout series to feature.

Hands down one of the best companions.

I always been a fan of hers an the fact we can make her "human" shows that even if your not a synth robots ARE capable of emotions programed or other wise

Man explained all of this in just 14 minutes while Oxhorn explained it in a hour

I was playing as a murder hobo for my first fallout 4 play through. I was killing and raiding like I normally did till I found curie. Changed my attitude and started helping others and being kind because I didn't want to loose curie.

I always loved Curie, she has an innocence that's now unknown in the wasteland and it's fun seeing how she reacts to everything for the first time.

I remember getting Curie on my first playthrough of fallout 4 and i fell in love with her cute naive personality

She's an interesting companion for sure! I kind of like her as a Miss. Nanny more though; it's fun to deck her out with the Automatron DLC haha

that Curie interation with the Noodleshop bot was so wholesome

Something i didn't think about until now is that if Curie isn't killed she will live long passed the Sole Survivor has gone.

Curie is probably more human then most of the people you meet in the Commonwealth. Hands down the most unique and precious character in Fallout IV.

Curie is really adorable. I'd wish we could take her with us to the Institut and have some interactions there for her.

Obviously I romanced Curie, Piper and Cait in my first playthrough and had an evil playthrough with just Cait and another with just Piper. But my most played on save that I consider my "canon" playthrough is with Curie. I like the idea that my character was pretty emotionally broken after watching his wife die. But after meeting Curie and seeing her pre-war naivety and desire to help and talk to people, that it reminded him of his wife. And having never got the chance to be the protector he should have been for his wife in this fallout, he can do so instead with Curie

Could not have been better timed. I started playing FO4 about a week ago and I just finished the mission with Curie a day or two ago. I brought her along just so I could listen to her voice

I'd always assumed the "Braun" in her diary entry was Stanislaus Braun from Vault Tech.. never considered Wernher Von Braun.. kind of a duh moment I guess lol.

In my first play through of fo4, I found curie and I thought, "neat, a female robot companion". And getting her friendship up and her asking to become "human" and actually being able to do it blew my mind.

My favorite companion,I wish we had the option to make Codsworth a synth too.

Curie is such a wholesome breath of fresh air in the Fallout Universe. She stands out compared to almost every other companion in the franchise.

She was my favorite character, I enjoyed traveling the commonwealth with her.

I loved Curie so much. She is so innocent and I need her in my lone wandering assassin life.

Ahhh thankyou for making this Curie is my absolute favourite Fallout Character (which is a big deal when Valentine is a thing xD) As for if she is human i think it comes back to "I think therefore i am" she thinks she is Human, she feels like a human, therefore she is a human as far as i'm concerned.

Curie is my idea of a perfect waifu. She's smart, considerate, compassionate, she loves being diplomatic over being assertive, and she has an amazing accent. I don't care what anyone says, curie is wife material 100%

Synths would still have to eat and drink, gen 3s might have bodies made artificially, but they do canonically say that the ONLY difference is the synth component. I'm sure somebody would notice that they didn't eat or drink.

It sounds sad but I've literally had dreams of being with Curie lmao. One of my all time biggest video game character crushes. She's just so damn adorable.

Man, I remember back when I had her with me as a companion. I had her all dolled up by transforming her from a a run-of-the-mill miss nanny, into a walking murder-machine by making her a heavily armoured assaultron fitted with the nuke shoulder mortars, mini gun on one arm with a nice hammer/saw combo on the other. In the end, I was left with quite the dilemma when it came to when she wanted to be a synth woman.

In my first playthrough i couldn't get curie since i used a speech check to enter vault 81 and the first door got glitched from opening. Good video by the way.

This character made me realize that the Synths, while not robot or human, have the same emotional range as 'em. I mean, if the A.I of Curie can be transferred to a Synth, it does imply (and shows) that Robot A.Is (at least Mr. Handys and Mrs. Nannys) are advanced to a human brain level. ...Did that make sense? I'm tired.

She is fascinating in the sense that its the usual story of:"where is the line between synthetic emotions and natural ones?" Because her emotions are pretty human, they are not merely syntheyic (like for example alexa, which has a basic data bank of questions and replies that must be given to said questions), she makes her own decisions, her emotions are more fluid and, much lke ours, instinctive, because keep in mind, we are not different from a robot except from what makes our body, we too have a massive dtaabank that tells us how to reply to certain questions, only we can elaborate further than the strict replies given by a program

Curie should be the Wasteland's greatest scientist and doctor by the time Fallout 5 hits, if it is an actual sequel. Oh and I thought we could also make Codsworth human but nah not really. It'd be pretty funny having a guy with a full clean suit and a top hat just cleaning the place non-stop lol

I think Curie is a great example of how being 'human' is an emergent phenomenon.

If you have a robot workbench, don't talk to CURIE after her transformation, just go back to your robot workbench and you can turn her back into a robot, though she still thinks she's a synth. Also, keep explosives away from human CURIE. She killed me whipping out a fat man in a fight inside a small building.

They did a brilliant job with her character, she's quite possibly older than the vault dweller and younger at the same time.

There's something about Curie that I can't help but talk about. I want to sit her down at a park right before the sun thinks about setting and have her talk about anything she wants. Any of her views on life. Anything because She's so wistful and full of hope, almost ignorantly so in terms of her own safety. But it's a type of personality I don't see much recently that just a character going on about her life in this way is enough for me.

Anyone else wish we could have had a similar quest for Codsword? I mean imagine him looking like Alfred in a black suit kicking ass with us in the waste land

In my latest playthrough, i kept remembering Curie's lovable and eargasm voice, her accent makes her character shine even more. During my last playthrough, one the very first things i did(aside from the unavoidable prerequisites) was going to the vault where you can get Curie.

I think Curie is an great character for an Institute run. Having to grapple with how the Institute treats their Synths as property, while you treat Curie as a normal person, could make for some interesting rp.

Definitely my favorite female companion hands down, so cute and cheerful, she’s just so nice. Always a pleasure to have around during any adventure! And it’s always cute and funny to hear her input in any situation. My favorite male companion is definitely MacCready^^

Also Synth aren't human, even the sentient ones. They ARE however living beings, just not human. Even Glory - a self-aware synth herself - states that synth aren't human, no matter how much the railroad think they are. Synth are an independent, self-aware, intelligent species - not human, but self-aware, intelligent, sentient and sapient.

I loved this video and I feel that curie is the best romance option as she is a synth and if we believe that the sole survivor is a synth as well then it would actually be a functioning relationship, especially with Shawn and curie being a surrogate mother

When first meeting Curie I didn’t quite pick up on some of the subtext of her asking if I was from Vault-Tec. Took a second to realize she was probably half crazy from isolation and just REALLY wanted to leave the room.

Curie is just too sweet for the wasteland life 😭 I always do her quest so she gets her body and then I take her to my main settlement, give her a cute outfit to wear, and let her hang out there. Occasionally I take her around but generally let her hang out in the settlement because she's just so wholesome 🥺💖

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Cassidy stuff, but Curie won me over after a couple playthroughs of 4

This story is adorable and makes me want to watch the old Robin Williams movie “Bicentennial Man” which although surely inspired by Isaac Asimov (if not actually written by him?) is almost the same tale with the only glaring difference being that her story includes the small matter of an armageddon. Even with that little difference she is basically Bicentennial Woman and I would hazard a guess that Curie’s story was either directly inspired by the Robin Williams movie or that both are an adaption of the same story.

The only issue I have with her is that as I travel with her she asks "have you found someone to make me more human" more often than Preston tells me that a settlement needs my help

Funny enough.. In my very first playthrough of FO4. Curie was the first companion outside of Codsworth I gained. ( Yes, Even before Dogmeat, Garvey, ect. ) Liked her character quite a bit.

Curie's naitivity about the Wasteland is what makes her fun to travel with and adds to her cuteness.

I'm just gonna put it out there, it's annoying that you cannot give Codsworth, Nick and Ada a synth body but you can for Curie. It doesn't make sense. I mean there should at least be a dialogue option for it and if we really really want to, we have to actually find an empty synth body or get the institute to make one and of course get Codsworth, Nick and Ada to agree to it. depending on your allegiances. but it's annoying that there's no such options.

Curie is a Miss Nanny (possibly) turned Synth and a possible companion of the Sole Survivor of Vault 111. She wields a built-in laser gun and buzzsaw and later a laser rifle.

Curie is NOT human, but she IS sentient, she is ALIVE, certainly our equal, but as a synth she is a species of her own... related to humans genetically through the Survivor and their son Shawn but she is a genetically engineered life form. A new offshoot of the human species as it where, just as we had our cousins of different species in prehistoric times in the Denisovan and the Neanderthal. We share their DNA just as she shares ours.

All my companions can take care of themselves. Except my sweet Curie. If a raider breathes in her direction they're getting their head smashed in. She's so sweet, naive and always so hopeful for the future to be better. All she wants to do is help. Heck the only one that can make me feel guilty about my bloody rampages.

Just wanted to come down here and respectfully but regretfully let all of you know that. Curie and i are now in a fully long term committed relationship despite her mechanical anatomical nature❤️

lol you have her in the same labcoat I have her in except on my save it has absolutely OP ballistic weave from a mod. 100 ballistic and 100 energy resistance. And a plasma rifle I made to mimic the Q-35 Matter Modulator from New Vegas.

Her only downside is her lack stealth capabilities. She's gotten me detected by a lot of enemies in my travels around the Commonwealth

Would curie technically be a descendent of the sole survivor? Gen 3 synths were created with Shawn's DNA and the sole survivor is one of his parents.

definitely my favorite companion. i downloaded a mod to make her speak Spanish and even tho I usually hate the dialect she speaks (Spain Spanish), with her it's perfect

I’m surprised there isn’t some sort of quest where you keep the cure and give it to the institute. And you let them Use it but in exchange they also release it on the commonwealth kinda enclave fev style

Curie is an amazing companion albet the change is indeed permanent but with a certain DLC, you can re-equip her with other weapons, but I always make her human as she gets a laser rifle and can use stim packs. Codsworth is the one companion to turn into a robot butler into a robot body guard. Those sentry bot legs maybe huge but the game did warn me that is hte case.

I think it’s a stretch, but oddly, Curie radiates Audrey Hepburn vibes. The pixie haircut, French accent, and wholesome nature is something Audrey always exhibits in her films. In Roman Holiday, Audrey’s breakout film in ‘53, is a princess who wants to explore the free world. Which is also Curie’s struggle as she wants to venture outside her Vault, and was limited to her duties as a robot, just as Audrey was limited to her life as a princess. If New Vegas used Marilyn’s likeness, Curie was absolutely intended as an homage to Audrey Hepburn.

Curie is my personal favorite companion even though I think all the ones in New Vegas are probably better just in terms of density and being well written. She's intoxicatingly cute and positive, and puts a smile on the face of even my most grizzled characters

Curie the best of the best Companion followed by Preston Garvey, Codsworth, Ada, Piper, and Decon. They all hold my view of justice and I go minutemen/Railroad route every times. Curie is as pure a soul as you can find in all fo and one of few companions I am willing and enjoy having at my side. She hates and won't tolerate murder of innocent lives. In her human form I always romance her and no other.
