This video is great! Your asking the questions all of us DSLR filmmakers want to know! These cinema cameras are so intimidating but this really makes it easier to understand. This would make a wonderful podcast/RU-vid series

Coming from no knowledge at all, it seems very very complex. I can't imagine dealing with all that! Both cameras cost more than any car I have ever owned! I can't imagine having a 2000 dollar lens much less a 30,000+ dollar camera!
It is kind of out of this world but if you think about them from the perspective as this is his job and this kind of equipment compliments the other high budget infrastructure that goes along with movie making, then it makes more sense as an investment. But also keep in mind that Scott is getting consistent work in this field from clients willing to pay for that premium quality. Crazy stuff.
Man that's a lot of pieces and parts. Coming from no real knowledge, it seems very complex. But, dslr's seemed that way in the beginning, lol. (900 bucks for a memory card! Whoa!) Good one!
Easy. cinema still a monopoly. companies that build cameras do not want random people having access to the type of quality that is capable of producing a full-length film, especially Hollywood film. in my personal opinion I think this day is ridiculous that those prices still exist. I think it would take a little more time for companies to realize that by downgrading their prices for these high-end machines probably their sales will multiply. because nowadays more filmmakers are growing. since the birth of RU-vid, Netflix, and all these media outlets, now more creative individuals are able to put their stories out there. i bet in a few years some of these companies will pull the trigger and say fuck it. let's sell these movie machines at an affordable price so everyone can make their own Hollywood movie come true.
Yup that’s the point Henrick! I didn’t have experience with cinema cameras, I’m glad I’m cringe because I want to talk to people who do know about cinema cameras for all the other people who are cringe about cinema cameras so I and them can get less cringe worthy about cinema cameras.
