Assalamu'alaikum Dr Sabeel, I did not practice Islam before. I was born a Muslim but I did not have a strong religious background in my family nor was I interested in practicing my religion before. But after watching your videos for a few months now I'm coming back to Allah. I have been practicing 5 times prayer a day and reading the Qur'an now, Alhamdulillah. And I'm so thankful you're a part of my comeback. Thank you very much for the guidance.

There is no original sin. Adam and Eve prayed for forgiveness and God forgave them. Qur'an 2:37. Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. The prayer for forgiveness by Adam and Eve. Qur'an 7:23. “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.”

To add a note: capital punishment in Islam is only practised by an Islamic state where the economy must first be at its peak, with no poverty. The sentences as we speak now, only the respective country can identify that economy is even, and no one needs to steal food or anything on the street, meaning peace is at the highest stability. So only the Islamic state, not the community or group, can take action or atrocity by their own opinion or action. Eventually, the punishment comes only as a warner for those who break the peace and foster crime. If you think deeply, no one wants his hands to be removed while he is rich but trying to provoke peace and security. It makes no sense. So, punishment becomes only the last resort for an Islamic state, and it is the only solution to propagate peace. While in America or Europe, Muslims must comply with the rule of the land according to Shariah law.
