Exploring the Linux Command line Utility Curl! Here is the blog post I mentioned for curl with --host, and --resolve check it out! Its a good one. daniel.haxx.se/blog/2018/04/05/curl-another-host/
I've come across "curl" so many times and really never stopped twice to think about it. This vid really opened my eyes. Honestly your entire series on different utilities is really helpful for programmers/hobbyists who frequently encounter this stuff but never had the time or idea to look a bit closer.
I love this type of short and informative guide videos, i really hope that you will keep continuing this format videos!! Wish you the best for your channel!
I've been doing this a long time. But I watched all of your videos and learned something in each of them. They are good - short enough and to the point, and there's enough information to get someone off the ground with the utility as well as understand what it could be used for. Keep making videos if you can, you're moving the needle, even for those of us who've been using these tools a long time. Thanks.
@@ChineseRatfaceCHANG Then you go read that shit. I have read the man pages and they suck. Only works when you already know the basics of the commands and want a 'reference'.
Great guide, well explained with nice pacing. Thanks to RU-vid algorithm for recommending this video! Btw, I already subscribed to your channel. Keep up with your high quality content.
When you use [1-5] to get the info from 5 people, are you sure you are not using a function of bash? (you can use cat test[1-2] to print test1 and test2)
Great content! One weird thing is that the command line switches sometimes seem to have no easy-to-remember relation to what they do such as I in your example.
@@navekeng so I would like to see a more general practical guide for example "Linux :practical guide" or "Docker:practical guide". I just got into Linux from windows and tbh it is so confusing and I believe I'm not alone so it would be very helpful if you make a video about such basic topics
@@navekeng social media landscape has changed in last few years but for an oldtimer like me who is still mostly typing commands in cli, you are doing ..god's? Spaghetti Monster's?? - work. Thx from the bottom of my RAM... keep 'em coming and we'll keep 'em watching and learning.
One thing i wish you had shown was how to submit a user name and password to a site .e.g automatic login. Also, could you show this same video using the C API?
Ahh good suggestions, I had to cut some of the extra api content due to flow, I could have found a way to keep that in. Also I could have at least shown the -libcurlc output command for sure, thanks for the suggestions and will keep it in mind in the future when I’m cutting it up! It’s always a balance unfortunately, if I show every flag ever it’s way to much and boring but sometimes I do miss things, like showing the username and password in header is good info! Thanks for the comment tho, let me know how I do in the future!
Lol I cut a section that was suppose to be curl vs wget.. It will be a bit before wget because I only use it like two diff ways and both are boring, it might be a 45 second video lol
Yeaaaa I don’t use this for anything but these vids but it was still annoying me with nothing setup, I’m no neovim power user but it’s nice to have the env all comfy, you know?
