Well African hair like my hair is curly but really curly and I mean curly to the point where it's tangled all the time the curls can be brushed but it will stay curly and tangled which is why we braid it or put a weave in some people get a perm some stick with it and put in a pom pom pony tail

So I have naturally very very straight hair but I use a lot of the tips that Megan uses in her routine. I have never had so much volume before!!! Washing your hair upside down makes such a difference. What I do after I finish washing my hair (when its still dripping wet) is dry it with a t-shirt just until it stops dripping so much, and then I put it into a bun on the top of my head for an hour or so, and then I take out the bun and use a blow dryer on a cool setting to completely dry it. I get so much volume and it feels so smooth and velvety I LOVE it!

Straight hair is sooooo easy to manage. I know because I relaxed my hair while back. Yeah literally all you have to do is brush. Then your hair will be neat and perfect. Even AFTER a windy day, just brush it and it’ll be back to normal. CURLY hair on the other hand needs more maintaining and you have to be really careful with it. My hair grew out and now it’s back to curly. I love it though now, like the volume 😝

SheaMoisture coconut and hibiscus shampoo is what I used for years. It works great for me. Hair One Cleanser and Conditioner with argan oil (which I think is sold only in Sallys or amazon). Sulfate-free is what works for me. I only comb it in the shower with a really wide shower comb to distribute evenly and let it air dry. I do have a silk pillowcase from amazon for $10 and it doesn't make my hair frizzy.

I always airdry, and if I can do it in Cleveland winters, you can do it in LA winters. However, I must say, when my curls freeze in the frigid temps, they look FABULOUS once they dry! There is zero frizz and they are extremely well defined!

They're totally missing out on Plopping! Use an old tshirt (make sure its cotton!) and light dab/scrunch your hair so its not soaking wet (this is after you've applied your leave in and gel). Turn it inside out slightly (or get another old cotton tshirt if you dont mind using 2) and making a head turban thing. Just use that for maybe 20 minutes or so and _then_ let it air dry. Lets your curls define and stay in shape just a little bit longer before you let them down.

I shower and I brush it while it’s still wet then go to sleep with it like that and i wake up with a mess (I’m the only one in the family with curly hair and this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone say they have a specific routine for their curly hair)

Mel Martinez you can but it’s usually not recommended. People often suggest to finger comb in the shower with your conditioner so it detangles easily. Then you can buy a detangler (I use Kinky Curly Knot Today) and comb it out with a wide tooth comb so you wont damage your hair. (:

I shampoo once a week, I put a bit of shampoo in a bottle with water and then I shake it and pour it on my hair, it gives it more bubbles, and then conditioner, I leave it on my hair till I finish washing my body and then I rinse it in then end, I use a normal towel to dry it but gently by tapping, I apply oil replacement from edges till roots and finally I make a hair bun and I leave it till the next day, I let my hair down the next day and my curls always look nice and fluffy

My mother is Asian and her hair gets so greasy after one day but I have curly hair and my hair is so dry I avoid shampooing and only do it once a week even tho I put conditioner on about 3 times a week to stop it from frizzing and to keep it looking moisturized and shiny! If I were to wash my hair everyday it would make it even more dry and unhealthy ^^ it’s different for everyone especially curls and straight hair

that’s be so annoying to do everything! i wish i had one strict routine but my mom just buys me random curly hair products and i have to hope for the best, sometimes i use creme and mouse, then run out of mouse, and i use lotion, cocnut oil, anything to give my hair moisture, and something to give it definition. if i dont have hair creme i add water to the mouse to make it less crunchy and Ugh i never know what to do

If you have curly hair, try and find sulfate free shampoo. Paraben and silicone free conditioner, same with a good deep condition.

If anyone wants to try it hears my hair routine: Every other day follow these steps in the shower ALWAYS SHOWER AT NIGHT Shampoo it fully after making sure your hair is soaked Wash out all of the shampoo Any hair bellow your ears should be conditioned fully Then rinse all conditioner out THEN BRUSH YOUR HAIR OUT Go to sleep with wet hair Brush hair and then (optional) straighten it days when I don’t shower: Brush hair and then (optional) straighten it Idk why I did this but if you do try it please tell me how it went

In what world is 70 degrees (assuming F) remotely cold

When you live in California and you're used to 80/90/100 degree days, 70 is pretty cold for Californians lol. I'm from Jersey so 70 is like perfect weather in my opinion lmao.

I should try the spray bottle tip....I feel like it's more lightweight than grabbing water and scrunching may hair with it and then trying to salvage it with leave in conditioner until I've piled on too much.....I'm tired of putting it up at work because I know my hair has so much curl potential lol
