Finally there's gonna be a navy ship named after my hometown of Den Helder, which has also been the Royal Netherlands Navy's main naval base for more than two centuries.
through private sector equity participation in future naval acquisition programs the Royal Netherlands Navy can fulfill most of it's planned procurement without having to blow it's budget . . .
If the Dutch/Belgian Future Frigate Programme is now looking at a Larger Hull size, just buy into the German F126 build - similar roles, specification and Weapon fit out and contractor ( Damen ) seems a no-brainer to me.
The submarine fleet will disappear fast before the new ones come in. I am hoping for a submarine with universal VLS tubes that can be used for launching special forces operations and different types of missiles. The Tomahawks can be launched from the torpedo tubes as well. The frigates increased size is very good news but i think like Norway they will be equipped with the SM-6 latest Block. They will be capable of carrying the SM-3 but i doubt that unless the Russian Federation increase the aggression and the budget further increases. I hope they will replace the OPV with another multi purpose vessels a light or heavy frigate. The weapons systems and sensors will be put on the tanker once the sht hits the fan, Thales Netherlands is highly capable of doing this fast if they are willing to pay.
@@rolandxor179 they can’t supply Germany not even close. Also their energy production in oil and gas is way down their reserves are supposed to be gone by 2030. Convenient they were going to be done doing oil and gas when their fields are depleted. Germany uses way more electric then the Netherlands could ever hope to supply.
1. Do you know how many gasfields in the Netherlands are not even in use yet? We can last longer than 2030. Even with exporting. 2. An amount of our energy is already renewable. And this will increase alot in the coming years. Also in Germany. 3. We still have the option for coal energy. 4. We are pioneers in hydrogen-energy. 5. The Netherlands can just lower the taxes on gas/oil, so it remains affordable. 6. The average income in the Netherlands is quite high. They can pay higher prices for energy So why do you think we are going to have an energy-problem any time soon?
@@krultheg3021 no you can't you have signed on with the green people and gave decided not to produce past 2030. And additionally your existing fields are dying off at 4-5% per year.
Netherlands need to greatly increase their military personnel size before worrying about new tech and equipment. Stop depending on the US for protection.
@@rolandxor179 probably lol, i mean from what i understand, russian government stole all the equipment and are now trying to run the businesses themselves with their own products
@@polduseri909 and yet, the US has over 120,000 combat troops in europe as we speak. We actually have troops in UA officially as of yesterday. Again, protecting the worthless Europeans because they cant be bothered to protect themselves. Lets not forget the 2 carrier strike groups the US is providing europe currently. Europe should be paying tribute funds to the US for being our protectorate states. Because without the US and our troops and equipment, europe wouldnt exist in its current state. The only country in the NATO alliance that actually can defend itself is turkey. And thats sad. Germany's, UK's, French, militaries are a joke, and the other countries dont even deserve a mention. 2%....... thats all we asked, and yall cant even do half. The only benefit the US has being in the alliance is that it allows us to have forward bases in conflict zones. Like i said before. Increase yalls own military and do proper training, then worry about getting new systems. Cant even man the systems yall currently got.
