CURRENT and WORKING Mods for Cities Skylines - Not Loading, Errors, Crashes, Conflicts, Fix 

I just don't get people getting mad at people not instantly updating things that take a long while to make and test and that are FREE. Appreciate mod devs for bothering to even update them... 😎

This is a really solid guide and those steps worked for me 100%. Day 1 of parks and plazas release I went to the reddit patch day thread, followed the advice therein, and same with compatibility report. Hard to overstate the value for these resources in getting back to playing the game with the least amount of frustration and time wasting.

I think compatibility report only works after a new update, after you've subscribed to it. I could use it for the first time after the latest update and boy, it makes life a whole lot easier. Also the consolidation of multiple mods into 1 is a huge improvement. (We could still argue that some of the mods functions should be in the base game). It will make it also easier in the future when there will be an new update. Less stuff to worry about. Also from me a mega THANK YOU! to all the creators for making this game a super fun experience!

I already use most of these mods but even with thousands of hours in CSL I didn't know about spawn/unspawn swapper. I can't count how many times I've had to rearrange networks or just abandon placement of a cargo asset because the traffic goes the wrong way. A godsend! Thanks goes to this video and of course BloodyPenguin. Thumbs up.

I always come back to yumble anytime i return back to this amazing game and want to rebuild mod list to avoid hours of troubleshooting loads. More network stuff is still useful for airplane paths and ship paths. Unless you happen to be in a map that those lines where you want them it's necessary as there isn't another option afaik. I only just started a new city because I wanted to wait for the mods to kinda stabilize a bit. I went from like 80ish mods down to 50ish

Thanks for your attention to this unpleasant topic. Heavy modding needs heavy attention. Being in the process of validating my mod list (thanks to building themes), this is an extremely helpful and well timed video. Surprised to see some mods in your list that I rejected due to comments by Stayhungrystayfoolish: - Road Options (failed recently, reportedly Theme Mixer2 can do the job) - Extended Error Reporting (Compatibility Report instead) - Spawn/Unspawn Point Swapper (Building Spawn Points instead) Does "Environment Changer" have any value beyond Theme Mixer2 capabilities? Final suggestion: You might like "Call again" Looking forward to the next stream

This was pretty much my entire day, still going! That included playing with Theme Mixer to get something nice dialed in. The "Create Collection" process is a great feature, however it needs an "add all" button so we don't have to click every single item individually. EDIT: I google searched "Add all subscribed items to Steam Collection at once" and on reddit someone shared a script that adds 1000 items at a time, and it worked perfectly! WOW! Too Cool.

This is what I would like to call essentials... Thank you. Gave me a great relief!

I use BigCity (25 Tiles Mod) instead of 81 tiles and its successors, because my maps take literally forever to load when I use 81 tiles (even before the update, even with an empty map) and would recommend it as an alternative. Also it seems like it never breaks with the updates, and according to the creator just a few days ago: "It should in theory never break, unless the devs change the modding API, in which case yeah it might until I fix it."

Man, you do absolutely amazing job. I returned to Cities after break since 2019, and all (even 2022) mods yt vids are trash - except yours! Great list and explanation, I've only problems with render it (had to turn this off because I didn't see land lol). Also I've to add - your game skill is pretty amazing, I'm city builder player for over 20 years but things you do with intersections are mind blowing :o

I have like 50 mods installed. Some few I had to replace for a "revisited" version and som few outdated I had to take away or replace with somethins similiar. Just took some few weeks and I was back in my non broken city with no error messages.

And unsubscribe to me means to REMOVE, not to just turn them off. I just recently had problems with the newest 81 Tile mod because of some broken mods I had. I had help in this, and now I can use the 81 Tile Mod. Excellent video, Yumble. Thanks, and that goes to our great creators too... 😏

Thanks for your incredible work. You’ve saved my day so often. But I have a question: Let’s say, mod A requires/is depending on mod B. Now mod C is released which makes mod B obsolete. Can I now delete mod B without breaking mod A?

I wonder, do creators ever incorporate functionality from mods into the game? You've mentioned node controller, intersection marking tool, anarchy, move it and traffic manager so often I wonder why wouldn't a creator copy this functionality that is clearly missing in the base game? What mods would you consider absolute necessities for added functionality? (like things that are a pain or go wrong in vanilla, like if you want max 10 mods or so) Other nice mods might be in categories visual improvements and maybe little bug fixes (like the fire it mod). What other kind of mods?

I really appreciate mods. I do. I hate that I'm pretty much required to use them to actually enjoy the game. It means that you are forced to pay attention to the community even if you haven't played in several months. :(

What would be really cool (but probably more trouble than it's worth) to add to the game: Having the ability to save a specific mod-selection to your savegame. So every time you load it, you only load these pre-selected mods with it. Would be especially useful with fundamentally game-alterating mods (e.g. like the now non-working Metro Overhaul Mod).

I wish extended infopanel 2 had an alternative people could use while the author fixes that one, that doesn't end up breaking the game so severely that you have to start a new save without it enabled.

Hey Mod creators do some mods for Xbox and playstation , please please must have. I love playing City skyline but don't have have any ability to fixing it to the way looks real , plus having the building like Parking lot or name brands stores like Walmart , Target , gas stations. And the clip it mods and the level mod both the house and the terrain. Also here a new ideal. Instead of letting all of the resources going out of the city you can tell what resources can and can't go and tell what resources to buy from other cities. Give a way to tell your truck to to only go to the nearest train station to off loaded. Have the season changing , like you start in summer time and then as time goes on you go into fall then into winter and then spring and then back to summer.

The first tab of the spreadsheet is outdated. It calls for replacement mods that in themselves have become outdated. The replacements for 81 tiles are the most obvious. The 3rd tab that refers specifically to PnP mods is more up-to-date.

Hi Yumble, great content! Thank you for all your help efforts to make the game more fun! After I applied your mod list, my water pipes are gone. In the water management tab I don’t get the under ground view to connect more pipes and expand. Do you know how to solve this?

I'm still somewhat new to this game, however I do like it. But I find this update thing so frustrating and I really don't understand why the developers do this. Early on when I start playing the game I noticed problems with the game as I accumulated mods and assets. I didn't seek help for support and of course they blamed mods and assets. They told me that I need to make sure mods and assets are up to date. At that time I was like how would I know I'm new to this game no one is giving me instructions how to use these mods in assets. More importantly how are the mods and assets able to affect the game in such a way. Am I think it is if they don't want the mods or assets on the game and they don't want to give support for them or any type of advice why do they allow them to be on the game. Now we get this update and pretty much shut down my whole entire game. Since I'm not well versed in the game I feel like I'm neglected and they don't give a shit. I'm not even going to waste my time reaching out for support because I see a lot of guys on here trying to help others who are my developers as well as assets. But this is going to sound crazy, but it seems like to me that developers of this game go out of their way to make sure any of their updates that they put out will affect the mods and assets. I think this is bullshit. But as I said I'm still relatively new to this game and I may not fully understand what's going on. But I do like the mods and the assets. Playing the game from the beginning, it's a bit time-consuming. From my perspective the mods and assets give other people a different outlook on how they want to play the game. We all know people like playing games in different ways and I'm sure there are guys who love to go out there and start from ground zero and build their way up but I also see guys out there who like to invest in heavily in mods and assets after watching this video I didn't know you can have that many mods in a game. Me myself and most I ever had was probably around 30 and that would be pushing it seems to be this game itself because it was slow down has accumulate these mods however I did have a large amount of assets and that also will slow down the game. While I'm dictating to Google I'm waiting on my city to boot up and it's still trying to boot up and I follow the instructions and then deleted or excuse me not delete it deselect the mods that are no longer working. Look like this is going to be another city that I'm going to lose. I'm going to have the developers ever considered sitting out a email notifications to the people who play their games we actually pay for this and give them a heads up that hey we're going to do an update and here are some of the things you might want to do to protect your games as or anything else you may have on the game. Now I'm sure you veterans will probably laughing at me that's fine. But as I stated earlier at the beginning I am somewhat of a beginner. So I'm assuming that it would always be people interested in this game and so therefore it will always be beginners and that maybe the developers will show some consideration and giving them the necessary guidelines for them to deal with these issues that clearly and rookie like myself probably wouldn't know what to do. I'm just saying this because I feel like I wasted a lot of money and this was my stress reliever and I have to find something else. There's nothing worse than having to start all over because someone else calls you to start all over but yeah it didn't give you a heads up warning.

Yumbl I have a question, I unsubscribed to all mods and my game still doesn’t load. I have the error message saying game is already running. I’ve looked into that and have asked biffa his insight I had a few people comment that I need to restart laptop, upload steam verify files through steam. Restart laptop and it should load but still have troubles even with no mods. I recently uninstalled skylines and reinstalled through steam with personal hotspot and wasted half of my data doing so. I still need help.

I decided to remove all of my mods because I am just not that advanced a user to play them. the only one that I am concerned with is the forever resource that came with the game and the infinite money so I can learn the tools of the game

This game is completely unplayable to me nowadays and that's so sad because I have been playing this game for over half a decade (since release).

815 pages of subscriptions! I thought I was a hoarder 😂 but I don’t come close.

I create 2x4 parking lot using asset editor and after save asset I load the game and roads turn blue and all the building are disappeared can you help me any one please?

Really grateful for this I had a City I was really invested in which relied on an absolute spaghetti of mods, had given up trying to make it work I find my game save won’t work even if I launch with no mods. Is there any way back from here or do I need to bite the bullet and start fresh?

is the list on the excel are just for dead mods? most of my mods are not on the list so im not sure what to do with it

I took the nuclear approach and just unsubbed from all the mods and carefully installed each mod one by one with the P+P compatible logo. Might have made more work for myself in doing that but it's done now.

Yea Dev work is free but it also costs zero money to just write "outdated" in the steam description when they've stopped bothering to update instead of having to go to the comments and hope someone else has mentioned having problems.

Just run the Compatibility Report mod and it will tell you what is up with your specific Mods, trying to look at a page, find all your mods and flip back and forth between pages is horrible to be honest. This one will even tell you were to go for replacements to your mods as well. All you have to do is read the instructions. There are good Mod creators and bad ones, some abandon and never reply. There is no point or advantage to rant at them online. Just unsub and get a replacement, you never know what might be going on with a person in real life after all. Support the good Mods instead.
