I *always* rewrite pens/inks that carry over. My rule is that if it’s not on the list, it’s not inked up. New acquisition: it should be here Monday, but I’m getting the Conklin All-American Full Rainbow pen. I purchased it as a present to myself because I quit smoking May last year and after hitting the year mark it took like a month and a half to decide what I’d get myself. 😂
I love that - if it's inked, write it down. And yay for your new pen - that is a well-deserved present to yourself! Congratulations on quitting smoking!
I think your choice of inks for this month is great! It's very summer! I'm reminded of all the colors you see on inflatable water toys and swimsuits when I look at that palette!
There is no problem in having same pen as the earlier month. Thats the way we use. Its not a good idea to have different pens as far as I am concerned. I would love to see different inks in the same pen. We can know some good pairings. Swatching is useful, but in a pen inks behave very differently. This entire month I used 3 pens and 3 inks. 1. Lamy blue black ink in MB 340P F 2. MB mystery black in MB 144 F 3. Diamine writer's blood in Pelikan 140 (Forest green 💚) EF Will continue using the same this month as well.
Thanks Dash. I agree that swatching can show off beautiful properties of an ink, but it won't show how it will be day to day in a pen. Ooh, I have Writer's Blood so that may be my next one to go in the Pelikan 140!
I love the "inked" videos and would be so happy to see more. You have such a lovely pen collection and it's interesting to see different inks in different pens. Do you think there will ever come a time when you will use just one particular ink for a particular pen? Kind of a "signature" pen and ink duo? I just really, really enjoy all your videos and will be happy to watch whatever you publish!
Thank you! And what a great question! I don’t think I have been in this hobby long enough to have a signature pen and ink duo. I still have so many inks and pens to try! I think a few years down the road, I may get there. We will see!
Love seeing the new colors you chose! And I'm always down for more FP content! Still no new pen acquisitions for me (yay!) but my trip to the Chicago stores were really helpful! I both eliminated and added new pens to my list! But because I'm out of town I haven't been able to ink up for July yet!
Thank you, Katie! And yay for no new pen acquisitions (although I would say yay to new pen acquisitions, too!). I wish I could go to a store - I do have one local, but they don't have all the other brands I want to try.
Please do colour swatching! Love such videos. The ink I fell in love recently is Herbin Cacao du Bresil. Amazing brown gray that looks so classy. Highly recommend! Also I have burgundy phase and I love Diamine Burgundy Royale. And the pink red Pilot seems beautiful. I have to try Pilot inks but I must save for them.
I shared a bit of a story of each pen when I did my fountain pen collection a couple of months ago. And no it didn’t start with the Cross! I started getting into fountain pens in September last year following the purchase of a Hobonichi and watching a video by Helen of TheCoffeeMonsterzCo. Then down the rabbit hole I am still falling! 😂
@@KarynaLovesToPlan I understabd. My partner got there before me, so I blame him for my ever-growing collection of pens and ink. Who knew it was contagious?
I just ordered a few samples of Nagasawa inks from Yoseka. I'm obsessed with the Nagata Blue. I got a sample a while back and I've been preciously rationing it, so I decided to invest haha. I also caved to the hype and got a bottle of the new Shikiori Hara-hara. The Nagata Blue is currently in my Kaweco Sport. I also have Diamine Graphite, Sailor Manyo Chigaya, and Diamine Lilac Night in my other pens. Oh and Diamine Dark Forest, too. I didn't realize how much of a Diamine kick I'm on until just now.
Ooh, I've never tried Nagasawa. I do love Yoseka so they may be on my list to try. I do have all the new Sailor Shikiori inks in my cart... I just have to hit Check Out. LOL!
