This song makes you feel like getting back up after being on the ground for so long. It’s dark, but it also brings hope that maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel for us. Brilliant album.
3:17 til the end shakes me up pretty hard. the simultaneous singing and screaming is done so well and makes me think of a man trying to communicate emotions in two different ways, the singing is an attempt to have the voice be recognized in a more consumable way to the mainstream world, while the angry desperate screaming is an attempt to translate the frustrations of a lost voice wanting to be heard ever so badly. what a beautiful song, my favorite on this masterpiece of an album.
This song changed my life. I used to be heavily addicted to opiates. Without getting too deep into it, every word of this song speaks deeply to me and gave me the hope and encouragement I lacked. “But I’m bound to break free. Pride running through my veins, my chains lay flat around me...” Makes me weep… I’m 7 months sober now after 3 years of slowly killing my self and I’m so happy to be alive and to be able to listen to this song and have it touch my heart so immensely every single time I hear it. Thank you so much for this song.
Remember these words... "if you're looking for answers, if you're looking to quiet the voices and the pain, NOBODY, NOBODY EVER FOUND THEM AT THE BOTTOM OF A BOTTLE. LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!"
A new fan of this band but I absolutely love them. I misjudged them to be another generic djent band based on their name and didn't listen to them before, and boy was I wrong for doing that.
@@aninfinitemindofmusicandreams I recommend checking out Shadow Of Intent, it's the guitarist's other band. More of a symphonic deathcore sound with just as incredible material.
Lol. I get it. My friends and family dont listen to this hardcore extreme type of music, and cant even comprehend how I can be brought to tears while listening to this genre... This song is amazing!!! The riffs during the chorus is what really hit me....
lyrics: Do you ever want to waste away Recounting better times? I'm with you Is this all we have left to live with? I only wanna get by So with that, I don't mind getting by Reliving moments lived till my last breath Do you get it? Suffocating, can't breathe, but you've got a fucking mouth to feed Never made the effort to change or go out of our way You follow your sorrows For better days, we've waited for how long, how long? You follow your sorrows We spiral downward endlessly, but is the bottom where we're meant to be? Is anybody listening? Can anybody tell me why I can't get up? Why can't I get up? Down on my knees as the world comes falling down My fear: chained to the ground for my will is weak and my state is bleak But I'm bound to break free Pride running through my veins My chains lay flat around me My chains lay flat around me How long do we endure the pain? How long till we accept? You follow your sorrows For better days, we've waited for how long, how long? You follow your sorrows We spiral downward endlessly, but is the bottom where we're meant to be? This isn't where we're meant to be We spiral endlessly (You follow) Do you get it? (Your sorrows) Suffocating, can't breathe (For better days we've waited) But you've got a fucking mouth to feed Never made the effort to change or go out of our way (For how long, how long?) Is anybody listening? Are you listening? (You follow your sorrows) We spiral downward endlessly, but is the bottom where we're meant to be?
Currents ! Always managed to capture what state I’m in and this song , as a guy who’s struggled for 15 years with mental health , lived in shitty hostels and not being very good at life itself, now I’m a dad and a support worker and just getting through it all. Thank you, this song has done me wanders.
2:03 Maan, that part after the slight fade of music and then into "but I'm bound to break free" the way it just uplifts you. Words can't describe. Such a brilliant song. 👌🤟😎
And it's made by the same genious who brought us this ultimatum of epicness: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A3fBD9xjqac.html I just love this guy!
I discovered this song 2 days ago and I can't stop listening to this. My favorite part surely is the double vocal part at the end, its so intense. This song is f*ing great.
I lost my seven year old son 2 months ago to heart failure. I can’t understand why life happens the way it does. My heart breaks every second but somehow I pray for better days.
Go listen to The Place I Feel Safest!!! You'll be blown away. After that, go listen to I Let The Devil In, which will also blow you away! Welcome to the Currents family! \m/
Wish they made the part "DO YOU. GET IT. SUFFOCATING. CAN'T BREATHE BUT YOU GOTTA FUCKING MOUTH TO FEEEEEED" longer. That shit is epic. Wish they looped it twice.
One of the best endings I've ever heard to an album. Easily the most powerful, impactful, and epic track on the album, and absolutely my favorite of the bunch. Being that it's the final track to the album, it's absolutely perfect. It reaches the pinnacle of what the rest of the album does best and gives it an incredible send-off. It's a beautiful and captivating finale. How a truly stellar finale should be. I will clarify though, the whole album is powerful and impactful. Before I got to this track, it was like a three or four way tie between other tracks for my favorite.
I can't believe people are just getting to know currents but I'm glad. These guys produce some of the best music in the scene are nice af in person and put on a stellar performance. Need to see them once this covid shit ends
I can’t believe most people refer to currents from A place I feel the safest, and not mentioning life//lost and victimized. They’ve defiantly come a long way
There isn’t a single word in the English language that can describe how much emotion i fee from this song. This song is what separates the boys from the men. Songs like this, that tell a story and put forth so much emotion and raw talent, are the ones that make you rethink what/how you are living your life. I can’t thank this band enough for this song. Thank you.
This album and especially this track marked my life from now on!!!! I will the repeat until the very end!!!! Good job to everyone bringing us something so amazing and strongly emotional album!!!!
I cant believe how good currents is. Brian's insane vocals and those fucking riffs are just something else, this is why they are on top of the genre, consistent bangers. Thank you so much for your music.
Is there anyone else that relates more to this type of music like I do, all the dark lyrics are this I resemble and struggle with, not sure if the depressive tendencies I have are momentary or clinical, but the music makes me feel better
This song, Three Fountains by ABR, Abandon by Sylosis, The Descent by Polaris, so many incredible closing songs on so many incredible metal albums this year.
My Better Day came! I finally got my dream job (entry level) after years of struggling and working terrible jobs. I worked myself until I almost fainted and went sleepless for days and impressed my professor so much I got a job working at their company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Currents!
Greatest band of all time. This album.means the world too me. The lyrics Brian Wille writes is the most relatable lyrics I've ever heard. And His delivery is flawless. love "Shattered " from past full length, so surprised no one mentioning this is clearly part 2 aka the sequel ....
This song sounds AMAZING when played in your car blasted loud and at night, 10/10 would definitely recommend y'all go for a drive with this song blasting
This song stirs my soul and literally touched my heart- and I’m not even talking about the lyrics.... all the music with rich textures and intense mood! 💀New fan here ... Dan From “Bury Tomorrow” recommended his fans listen to your band!!! Love! 🤘🏼💀🙌🏼💜
This is the one I keep going too... it has everything, the cleans, ambiance, currents complexity, just pure emotional track that just repeats through my head all day.
Everyone in 2020: Everything is now retried. There is no longer anything we fundamentally haven't heard before. Chris Wiseman: Hold my *chord progression*
Im so broke but after i listen to this crazy ass song, i spend my last money on merch from currents to support this beautiful art. This song is so beautiful ♥️💯!
I don't think I have ever come across a song that I feel like the lyrics are literally everything I feel. This song is just everything I've gone through the past 13 years of my life and where I finally feel like I'm on the right path finding someone who supports me and guides me. In fact this entire album just makes relate so much to my ex and I's relationship before we got divorced. This song speaks to the people that have basically just given up, but hope has never died.
