Honestly for some reason Wage War's new album just doesn't go as hard for me as their first album. Which is weird because it's not a bad album, for me it just feels a tad bit off lol
@@InsertNameHereCO I feel you. They just have a good energy live that would fit right in with Architects and Currents. Even Architects newest album isn't quite as heavy but for me it has a really strong emotional foundation. I've yet to see Currents but if that lineup ever shows up they can take my money. Lmao
@@alexgreen2008 Architects new album is my jam. When I first heard Royal Beggars I thought the album wouldn't be as heavy and good, but I was definitely wrong. I think that's what makes Currents so good is the emotion in their songs, its metal but it's not like hail satan type of shit(thy art is murder is damn good tho) lol everyone can relate in some way to the lyrics they write.
I wouldnt' say "underrated". Everyone who listens to their music loves them and thinks they are one of the best metal bands at the moment. They are just young and pretty new in the scene, they just need time to rise and get the popularity they deserve
also, the "Dark horizons bridge the gaps between Life and Loss" could be a reference to Life // Lost, which means "We behold the death of the gods" could be a reference to the new album with the first single being "The Death We Seek"
Even better, look at their Arts on their album - The way it ends, and The Death we seek. We see two people falling from different directions. and the Place I Feel safest also is part of that :)
Thank you for this amazing EP, I'm gonna be jamming it all night. Edit: I'm still listening, I got my physical copy in the mail the day it came out and whenever I hop in the car I'm jamming to it and screaming my head off along with you guys, thank you for these 5 incredible songs I can't wait to hear of what is more to come!!!!
Man, Currents are absolutely at the top of the progressive metalcore genre! There's nothing this band lacks at and they keep evolving (talking about Brian's vocals in particular). I can definitely inderstand why Brian said in his IG post that he almost lost his voice while tracking. Drums and guitars are top notch as well, Chris knows what he is doing. As much as I loved Jeff I think their new drummer adds more flavour to their overall kit. Well done Currents!
@@drkstrnd oh no problem This guys is a french yt video maker so about core so I said : "I wasn't expected to see you there ! Glad you like Currents !" Hope it helps you ;)
Literally goosebumps the entire song...especially when he sings the „ushering us to the end“ part. Might be my favourite piece of music this year together with era from bleed from within.
Go check their other albums bro, they've been doing that heavy chuggy architects sound since architects started doing it themselves :) these dudes are insane!
1:51 Everybody knows that progressive Architects style of vocals is the effervescent glow of metalcore, the pinnacle. Architects is my favorite band of all time but sometimes they're a little monotone so I like how Currents keep it diverse
I loved Currents before Brian, and I love them even more with Brian. I’m glad they picked him up. He was great in Tale of My Defeat too. This band is only getting better😎.
Few bands have made me feel the level of pain that Currents has supplied, in a good way. Should never have slept on this band. Wish I gave them a chance earlier
Did not even know this album dropped. HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! two amazing albums in one year!!!!??? I needed this album in my life so bad right now. Thank you Currents!!!!!
Hopefully in a few months they will announce a full album! I literally can't stop listening to Currents. I listen to at least 1 song a day. They are just that 1 perfect metal band that is so underrated.
One of my favourite bands, they really use so many different metal styles and make it so well and the lyrics always resonate. That with songs having a different each sound.. incredible
As you dissect the lyrics, who sees them as the description for the slideshow we live in? As current as we can possibly imagine. Such a wonderful song all around, but such a heavy and real meaning to it. We live in these times. Whoever is in control “their backs are turned, their eyes avert, wash it away with all but a whisper” we do not control the narrative as much as we think we do.
