i disagree. whats happening is there are a few select people within any given org who are star players that are hard carrying some of these pros. ide argue that there are some pros that are truly only as good as the person enabling them. some of these people are just associating with people who trained better instead of improving themselves.

You realize that in ANY sized league, math dictates that the average K:D will ALWAYS be exactly 1.0 not counting people who cause their own deaths? I don't think stats represent if players can pug it out or not either, and I agree that Lakia is a great example. Dude has had great fundamentals since the start of the pro scene but has a basic looking ranked stats.

@@iamusdamma2637You don't understand what it takes to be a pro player or team if you think that the game is a carry fest right now. I would argue that G2, Sentinels, and even Gen.G are teams that are clearly the summation of their parts. Yeah you have 'star' players that have that mechanics bump here and there, but it's the systems they build that make them consistent. I'm sure there's more top teams too, those are just ones I could think of right now that have a solid correlation between their IGL and coaches' vision for seeing the game and win conditions.

He was playing mvp level in redbull tourney last year as a stand in, so he knows what he’s talkin about.

I hope you know he was a pro earlier and was VERY GOOD. He even played for C9 this year in Redbull homegrounds and was mechanically better than most other players there

I wouldn't really say it failed when he makes more streaming so he has no incentive to be any more than a 6th man, he can keep the bag but maybe a few matches in the year he can play professional and earn 5,6,7k a month to be a bench warmer

yeah like playing less than 70 matches in ranked is not "grinding" like some pros or streamers do. He's spending more time in scrims or the server probably. not really to an extent. if you're getting a massive amount of money to professionally play a game 24/7 you would hope they have above average aim amongst immo+ players. notice how all the good teams right now have an igl that can actually aim? ex: johnqt, munchkin, boo, boostio, valyn, and even saadhak. 6/6 these igls have been in grand finals regionally or internationally. Im not saying aiming at a high level is ALWAYS required, but there seems to be a trend in valorant's current state. igls like: redgar, boaster, vanity ( i dont want to say fns because NRG just got reformed, but he is one of those "lower tier" aimers) are all doing bad or not as good as before. Valorants state right now is slowly turning into a game where everyone needs to have top tier mechanics in order to truly stay at the top not just your sentinel or duelist.

I digress though there’s no doubt some pros and radiants who are just on another level mechanically but I think everyone is shooting at a similar level immortal and above. What separates the divisions of play are game sense and things related to that.

Just as unrated feels insignificant and low stakes after a ranked game to you, it goes the same for pro players. Do you think the players playing in VCT regionals and international tournaments want to stress their minds on games which actually plays out differently than your avg ranked games. Also the stakes, well can’t be even be compared. One when you play to qualify for play offs and other international events, one gets you demoted from radiant to imm3 😄

Exactly. Same with cs, both these games got their metas shifted to shooter IGLs. Last cs trophies were won by NiKo IGLing while still having like 1.15 rating, siuhy having 1.0+ rating, chopper and AleksiB also winning a lot of important rounds for their teams. HooXi can't win having 0.7 rating in pro play, same with Redgar. Not shitting on him, I did like the time he was in Gambit, but the game has changed and he got worse over time. During his time in Liquid he was constantly one of the worst players on the team. I mean, there's always a room to improve, and if he's not even trying to outplay ranked players mechanically, then it's kinda sad tbh. Especially considering the fact that in ranked, when duoing or playing solo, you don't get pro players on your team, you get basic players that can be bad sometimes, so you need to frag too. Testing omen tps won't help you to win a trophy more than improving mechanical skills.
