say that the skyscraper has 27 floors. one at ground level, which we will state is floor zero, 25 extending upwards, and five floors in the intermediate space with various decimal or irrational values such as 0.23, pi, 3.33 repeating, 15.53, and 20.22. should the floor function be applied, these floors will be merged with the lower floor. 0.23 will go to floor 0, pi and 3.33 repeating will go to floor 3, 15.53 will go to floor 15, and 20.22 will go to floor 20.
