The one thing the halo show got right was how covenant weapons actually are like in the lore and how brutal they can really be. But that still was half-assed because the needler got dirty while the plasma weapons are spot on lore accurate.
The show as rather accurate to how the Needler works - the Needler in this animation is cursed because of the reload and how its fired in both occasions: the needler in the first half of the animation acts like the Spiker, which is shown in the live action commercials to actually impale people to walls. In the second half it used like some Covenant assassin would I imagine, but the closest lore precedent are the blammite swords that you'd shank someone with then break the hilt off to get it to go boom later. The needler, in reality however, is alot like it is in game - the needles are too small and dont have the power to really impale you, because the point is just to get them stuck in you until enough are on point to cause you to go boom. If you want to impale with the needler, you'd presumably use a Needler Rifle (from Reach)
@@eyeballpapercut4400 It'd vary based on location and helmet and armor type - Kat got shot in the helmet, which isnt as armored as the rest of your armor as a Spartan I imagine if she got shot in the shoulder it wouldve held it there. Plus these are Spartan 4s in Mark 6/7 armor so its probably more likely to just take the shot.
Is it really cursed when this Needler makes more sense than the canonical Needler? At least this one has you loading something during its reload animation. lol
Needler ammo has been shown to be weird purple . . .gem . . .things. So it makes even less sense how they're reloaded in the games (that show the ammo) compared to this lol
@@battlesheep2552 Possibly - in SPV3, mod for Halo CE, the top half splits open, you insert the crystal and slam it shut nd the needles extrude from the holes like cheese through holes in a grater
@@starsilverinfinity Good thing I checked to see if anyone else was gonna bring up SPV3 before I said it. That mod’s needler interpretation is pretty cool.
In the lore the needles explode shortly after making contact, you don't even need to get super combined to receive an insanely painful and grievous wound from one.
I wish Halo didn’t become more kiddy. I mean look at halo CE. Blood everywhere, horror elements pulled straight from alien, a creepy ominous aesthetic. Halo 1-3 all had it. Plus even when the graphics werent as good it looked more real than these newer graphics which look a lot more cartoony and fake. As the technology got better i expected Halo to get a little more violent little by little not the reverse. I would’ve liked to seen lore accurate weapon destruction in games. A needler explosion should send body parts scattered. You’re getting shot with a bunch of foot long needles.. that explode . But no no, they wanted to make halo into a generic MCU-esque space adventure. I mean look at the human technology in 1-3 then look at 4 and 5. Clearly what they were going for originally was making human technology look very familiar. The military vehicles and weapons weren’t overly designed or anything crazy futuristic and everything felt practical. Most sci fis like to do over the top but halo stood out cause if anything it underestimates human technology to show a more gritty militaristic future fighting for survival against these aliens that we only really stand a chance against because of these genetically altered super soldiers who were supposed to be rare in the fact only very few humans in the galaxy could actually be one and fewer even survive the augmentations and training. To which is what made chief so mythical. The last surviving one. But nah. 343 knows what we want. Space avengers, chief showing his face and having sex, T rated family games, get rid of the cosmic horror aspect completely and make the UNSC look more like power rangers than a real life based military force and just make it into another generic sci fi world. Not like Halo had a very distinct unique aesthetic or anything. Not to mention the legendary composer who created the beloved atmosphere never even got so much as a letter or email from 343. Meaning they said fuck marty and if it were me that’d be taken as the biggest insult. In fact I do take it as an insult as a fan. They literally couldn’t even care the smallest amount as to consider him for the music that is so highly acclaimed? Because they don’t care in the slightest about what people liked and loved about it. All big corporations should have their CEOs, head administrators etc all lynched in the street. This goes for most corporations and politicians. No one above you cares anymore and they see you as subhuman. They will deliberately destroy everything you love
